Purpose：To evaluate the clinical curative effect of Swelling eliminatingdecoction in the treatment of clinical symptoms and signs of fracture inearly Phase，and to pre1iminary study mechanism of Swelling eliminatingdecoction accellerating the eliminating swelling of limbs from thehemorrheologic changes, and to evaluate the security of the clinicalapplication of Swelling eliminating decoction.Material and method：60cases of fresh Femoral fracture were treated withSwelling eliminating decoction (Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) group)and no Swelling eliminating decoction (control group) respectively. The timeof therapy was6days. Check the hemorrheologic changes on the1st and the6th day. Two groups were compared and analyzed according to the effectivescores on the Primary at every day，judge its clinical effect。Results：In the TCM group, after fracture had been treated for6days，the clinical symptoms and signs were improved, and the total effective ratewas95.0%。The degree of the improvement was higher than that in the controlgroup (P<0.05). The Prothrombin time，Erythrocyte sedimentation， Plasmaviscosity rate， in TCM group were lower than those in the control group(p<0.05).Conclusion：Detumescence party (qi and blood stasis) of femoral fracturesof the early symptoms such as pain, swelling, ecchymosis effect is obvious，It is one of the most effective decoctions that are used to treat swelling of limbs in early Phase of fracture by the method of promoting blood flowand removing blood stasis.
