| Purpose:Through analyzing the clinical literature about treating skin diseases with Dahuang Zhechong pill, and evaluating the quality of included studies, to explore the application prospect of Zhang Zhongjing’s classical prescription "Dahuang Zhechong Pill" in the Dermatological Department.Methods:We searched the CNKI (1989～2013), Wanfang database (1989～2013), VIP database (1989～2013), collected the clinical literature about using Dahuang Zhechong pill to treat skin diseases, analyzed the applied range of Dahuang Zhechong Pill in the Dermatological Department, as well as the usage, the effect, the follow-up, the security and so on, then calculated the application prospect, and also evaluated the quality of included studies.Results:In the included33articles, there was26RCT, including5high quality studies, the others were low quality studies.24studies had moderate bias possibility,2studies had high bias possibility. Those articles involved11kinds of diseases, especially acne, chloasma, and psoriasis. Using Dahuang Zhechong Pill combined with other drugs was more extensive, the dosage of Dahuang Zhechong Pill was mainly unified, the course of treating non acute skin disease was often6-9weeks. The total effective rate was68.6%～100%, the long term therapy was need more further follow-up observation. The main untoward reactions were gastrointestinal reaction as diarrhea, and the increased amount of menstruation, both were mild. The incidence were respectively1.47%～13.95%and4%～6.67%.Conclusion:The limited evidence indicates that Dahuang Zhechong pill has been more and more widely used in the treating skin diseases, it can be used for treating10or more kind of skin diseases, and is often used with other drugs, it has a good curative effect, little untoward reaction, high safety, and a good application prospect. But there is few related clinical studies, and most methodological qualities are not high, most of them may have moderate bias possibility. The more high quality RCT studies are needed.
