Objectives To understand the basic features and possible risk factors of hepatitis C infection, to explore the main risk factors of hepatitis C, and to provide the reference and scientific evidence for prevention and control strategy of hepatitis C.Methods From June2013to October,1:1matched case-control study for individual was undertaken in18hospitals of Hebei and Hubei. The cases with hepatitis C patients who have been diagnosed for the first time since January1,2013and the control cases with non-hepatitis C and non-hepatitis B patients were selected as subjects. Each subject was interviewed with the face-to-face way by the self-made questionnaire to collect the data. Descriptive statistics were used to describe epidemic characters of the cases. The single factor and multi-factor logistic regression were used to explore main risk factors of HCV infection.Results1.200cases of hepatitis C patients are investigated in this study. The minimum age of the cases was18years, maximum age was80years, and the mean age52.6±12.4years. This study indicated that those aged40-49year old(22.5%)50-59year old(33.0%) and60-69year old(25.0%) were more affected by hepatitis C. The most number of cases are married or cohabiting, which accounts for93.0%,. Literacy culture level of the cases in the elementary school and junior middle school are more, which accounts for33.0%,33.0%respectively. The cases who have traumatic hairdressing, sharing razor/shave wool implement, STD, sex with hepatitis C, drug addiction account for13.5%,4.5%,3.0%,2.0%,2.0%, respectively. The cases who have a history of surgery, dental treatment, invasive diagnosis and treatment, blood donation, blood transfusion, blood transfusion products, glass syringe/replaceable needle infusion apparatus hemodialysis, account for64.0%,41.0%,39.5%,30.5%,30.5%,12.0%,9.0%and2.0%.2. To explore risk factors of HCV infection,200control cases are investigated in the study. The single factor logistic regression analysis shows that the relations between hepatitis C and blood donation, times and places of blood donation, blood transfusion, times and places of blood transfusion, glass syringe/replaceable needle infusion apparatus, blood products, surgery, times and places of surgery, invasive diagnosis and treatment, place of dental treatment have statistical significance.3. The multi-factor logistic regression analysis is conducted to select related and main factors. The resaults show that a history of blood donation before1998(OR=83.6,95%CI:9.6-728.3), blood transfusion before1998(OR=26.8,95%CI:5.0-143.9), glass syringe/replaceable needle infusion apparatus (OR=25.5,95%CI:1.6-396.0), place of dental treatment, surgery before2006(OR=2.6,95%CI:1.2-5.5) were main risk factors of hepatitis C.Conclusions The result of the study shows the main risk factors of hepatitis C are mainly iatrogenic and historical factors before corresponding laws and regulations to strengthen the standard medical behavior, we suggest continue to supervise the implementation of the national prevention and control strategies and formulate corresponding prevention and treatment of hepatitis C. In order to actively and effectively prevent and control the further transmission and spread of HCV, the relevant departments should strengthen the training of health care workers and public education and health supervision departments should intensify the supervision of primary health care sector.
