Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is one of the commonest lower genital tract infection disease for childbearing age woman. An understanding of risk factors for bacterial vaginosis will help us to prevent bacterial vaginosis and it's complications and ultimately ensure reproductive healthy. Objective: To investigate the risk factors for bacterial vaginosisMethod: A hospital-based case-control study conducted at Tianjin Heping gynecology and maternity Hospital, in which 200 patients with bacterial vaginosis and 200 healthy controls were interviewed. Unconditional logistic regression model and ordinal-response logistic regression were used for analysis.Result: Result from Logistic analysis showed that high level of the following were significantly associated with bacterial vaginosis: age (OR=0.5, 95%CI 0.41-0.61), personal income (OR=0.58, 95%C7 0.44-0.75), smoking (OR=3.17, 95%CI 1.44-6.94), the number of smoking perday (OR=3.03, 95%CI 1.49-6.14), PROM (OR=2.64, 95%CI 1.23-5.67), pelvis (OR=16.11, 95%CI 3.78-68.61), cervicitis (OR=2.24, 95%C7 1.33-3.67), urethritis (OR=3.Q9, 95%CI 1.42-6.54), tichomonas vaginalis (OR=8.97, 95%CI 3.11-25.90), mycotic (OR=2.51, 95%CI 1.52-4.15), gonorrgoea (OR=7.44, 95%CI 1.67-33.16), usage of condom (OR=0.13, 95%CI 0.49-1.08), tidy up the vagina by oneself (OR=3.64, 95%CI 2.59-5.10), vaginal wash(OR=1.88, 95%C7 1.27-2.78), abortions times (OR=1.44, 95%CI 1.13-1.83), cesarean section times (OR=0.56, 95%CI 0.35-0.90), pregnant times(O7?=1.13, 95%C7 1.05-1.63), premature times (OR=3.40, 95%CI 1.07-10.79), vaginal delivery times (OR=2.01, 95%CI 1.23-3.28), spontaneous times (OR=2.27, 95%CI 1.10-4.71), childbed infection (OR=5.84, 95%C7 1.50-22.71).Simptom about BV: pruritus (OR=11.16, 95%CI 6.90-18.04), vaginadischarge (OR=13.76, 95%CI 8.37-22.60), vaginal bleeding (OR=2.34, 95%CI 1.18-4.67), sexual pain (OR=4.67,95 %CI 2.44-8.92).No significant association were noted about: Race, born place, living area, illness emergen time, endometis, uterine bleeding, how long have been smoking, contracept by drugs, change underwear, disinfect underwear, bath place, bath way, commonly use bath towel, commonly use underwear, menses age, pregnant, other diseases.Multiple Logistic regression analysis indicated that the risk of Bacterial vaginosis was significantly associated with 5 factors: trichomonas history (OR=8.34, 95%CI 2.57-27.06), tidy up the vagina by oneself (OR=3.21, 95%CI 2.23-4.61), abortions times (OR=1.70, 95%CI 1.25-2.29), Age (OR=0.42, 95%CI 0.33-0.54), usage of condom(OR=0.44, 95%CI 0.26-0.73). Among them the use of condom are protect functions. Conclusion: Trichomonas history, tidy up the vagina by oneself, abortions times, age and usage of condom are significantly associated with the risk of catching Bacterial vaginosis, witch infered that Bacterial vaginosis may related to multiple risk factors.
