As the life of city in the 21th century, urban greenbelt has very high ecological, social and economic benefits and therefore it plays a growing important role in city construction. As water is considered to be the source of life, the irrigating of greenbelt becomes an important part that can't be ignored in urban management. With the shortage of water more and more and the development of computer technology, wireless communication and automatic control technology, highly efficient, precise and punctual automatic control is the development of greenbelt irrigation system.The control subsystem of automatic greenbelt irrigation system based on ZigBee wireless communication platform is designed according to the characteristic of irrigating of greenbelt after research on the development and application of it at home and abroad. It consists of three types of facilities, that is, the coordinator, wireless sensor nodes and wireless controller nodes. In this paper, the hardware and software designs of the system are described in detail and some measurements are taken to restrain various kinds of interference, so that the system can run well; Users can choose whether the sensor control method or the timing control method in order to decide whether to implement a soil moisture sensor according to management needs and cost control, which makes a flexible and practical system configuration; On the base of low-power design and analysis of the power consumption of the wireless sensor node, some micro-solar cell is implemented according to the control method chosen to provide green and long-lasting power supply. The system behaves well after experimentally running in some pieces of greenbelt in the yard, which is the base of the large-scale and long-distance monitoring and control system.
