Preliminary Survey And Chemical Control Of Weeds On Turf In Changsha City

With the development of improve of life level and enhance of environmental protection, the area of lawn is growing rapidity. However, the research of turfweed control of our country can't match with the industry, especially that of weed controlin seedlings. Controling weeds effectively are the key of esteblishing turf successfully.The investigation about lawn weeds of Changsha City in 2009 showed that there are 22 species of weeds, belonging to 15 families. Oxalis corymbosa, Hydrocotyle sibthorpioides Lam. Alternanthera philoxeroides and Cyperus rotundus were dominant lawn weed species in spring and summer, amongwhich,the damage degree of Oxalis corymbosa and Hydrocotyle sibthorpioides Lam. was the highest.Field trials showed that 94.5% of Oxalis corymbosa were controlled with fall applications of metsulfuron-methyl on at 0.45 g/100m2; It was effective to use metsulfuron-methyl+bensulfuron-methyl to control Oxalis corymbosa and Kyllinga brevifolia RottbWe studies the safety of 3 herbicides (metsulfuron-methyl, bensulfuron-methyl and pyrazosulfuron-ethyl) on 4 species of turf, in order to choose the safety concentration of herbicides for the weeds control. The results showed that metsulfuron-methyl(4～16mg/m2), bensulfuron-methyl(500-20004mg/m2) and pyrazosulfuron-ethyl(500-20004mg/m2) have good safety on the Reineckia carnea, Ophiopogonjaponicus, Zoysia matrella and Cynodon Dactyfon.
