Acantholyda posticalis (Hymenoptera, Pamphiliidae) mainly injuries Pinus tabulaeformis,P. densiflora,P. thunbergii,P. sylvestris var. mongolica,P. koraiensis, and is a major pest of defoliator to pine in China. The article researched the effect of different altitudes on the biological characteristics of A. posticalis, the attraction by different colors of sticky boards and the changes of specific activity of protective enzymes and metabolic enzymes during diapause period of larvae. Results are as follows:1 A. posticalis occurred one generation a year in different altitude of Culai Mountain in Shandong province and overwintered with mature larvae in the soil. After overwintering, larvae began to pupate in the mid-March. Adult began to emerge in mid-April and oviposite in early May, and hatching larvae in early May, and in June larvae fell down from the tree one after another over-summering and winter.A. posticalis had different progress of development in different altitudes. Various developmental stages of A. posticalis advanced about 10 days in low altitude than in high altitude.2 The adults of A. Posticalis were trapped with sticky traps of seven different colors. The results showed that the difference amount of attracting adults by different colors were significant. The color which attracted adults more than the others was green, which trapped 2248.3 adults per trap. The amounts of attracting adults by the yellow board and red board were 319.7±31.168 per trap and 306.7±17.401 per trap respectively. The amounts of attracting adults by the white, blue, purple and black boards were only a little. The amounts of attracting adults in east, west, south, north four different directions by green sticky board were significant differences. The amounts of attracting adults in east, west, south, north four different directions by green were 1639.0±152.292 per trap, 1219.7±72.391 per trap, 347.0±24.75 per trap, 257.0±13.013 per trap. The amount in north-south direction was much more than that in west-east direction. The amounts of attracting adults in the sunny slope, the shady slope and the ridge by green sticky board were significant differences. In the sunny slope, the amount of attracting adults which was most was 2353.0±95.394 per trap. The amount of attracting adults in the shady slope was 540.3±45.042 per trap. On the ridge, adults attracted were only 218.7±13.170 per trap.3 The changes of specific activity of SOD during diapause period of A. Posticalis larvae were significantly different, which showed a high– low– high trend in the change process. In beginning of the diapause, the specific activity of SOD of fall larvae gradually varied from low to high, and in August rose to the highest value of 458.65±3.426 U/mg; later the specific activitysteady declined to the lowest value 240.73±13.225 U/mg in October, at the same time larvae got into the overwintering when the specific activity maintain low. In March the specific activity of SOD began increased significantly. The changes of specific activity of protective enzymes POD during diapause of fall A. Posticalis larvae were significantly different, showing a high - low - high - low - high trend, In beginning of the diapause, the specific activity of POD of fall larvae gradually was high from July to September. The enzyme specific activity showed a declining trend in October; The highest specific activity was 12.50±0.559 U/mg in November, later the specific activity steady maintained low value until February, the lowest value which was 7.44±0.324 U/mg in January. In March the specific activity of POD significantly increased. The changes of specific activity of protective enzymes CAT during diapause of fall A. Posticalis larvae were significantly different, which showed a high - low - high trend. From July to November, the CAT specific activity has been maintaining a high level, and the highest specific activity of CAT was 75.93±2.133 U/mg in November. From December to February of next year, the CAT specific activity has been maintaining a low level, and the specific activity in January was 48.98±1.636 U/mg. In March the specific activity of CAT significantly increased .4 The changes of specific activity of metabolic enzymes trehalase during diapause fall A. Posticalis larvae were significantly different, which showed a low - high - low - high trend. From July to February, the trehalase specific activity has been maintaining a low level except in September when the highest activity was 0.89±0.034 U/mg. The lowest specific activitywas 0.09±0.010 U/mg in February,. In March the specific activity significantly increased. The changes of activity of metabolic enzymes sorbitol dehydrogenase (SDH) during diapause of fall A. Posticalis larvae were significantly different, which showed a low - high - low - high trend. In July the specific activityof SDH was 0.96±0.019 U/mg, later the specific activity of SDH was up to 1.29±0.035 U/mg in September. From November to January, the specific activityof SDH has been maintained a low level and the lowest value was 0.44±0.009 U/mg in December. In March the specific activity significantly increased to the highest activity was 1.37±0.056 U/mg.5. Through research the metabolic enzymes and the protective enzymes specific activities changes, we can divides the diapause period of A. Posticalis into three stages, from July to October is initiation, November to February of the follow year is maintenance and February to March in next year is termination.
