Sophora japonica is city's tree in Xi'an city. Thanks to influence of the habitat, Sophora japonica is vulnerable to pests, the major pest populations were investigated and pests control of Sophora japonica was studied Xi'an the trees along the street (Sophora japonica L.) from 2007 to 2010. The results are summarized as follows:First, On the basis of the examination of indoor and outdoor, twenty-three pest species were identification and the occurrence and distribution of the pests were studied from Sophora japonic L. in Xi'an city . nine species were studied , among which 9 species are from Tetranychus truncates Ehara, Aphis robiniae Mzcchiati, Cyamophila willieti Wu, Cicadella viridis L., Eulecanium kuwana Kandai, Drosicha corpulenta Kuwana, Semiothisa cinerearia Bremer et Grey, Cydia trasias Meyrick,Sinoxylon japonicus Lesne.Second, based on the experimental results, occurrence and distribution of pests were studied. the pest population's dynamics change with the time were studied. piercing-sucking mouthparts(i.e. S. japonica aphids )is the dominant species from March to early May, chewing mouthparts(e.g. Semiothisa cinerearia Bremer et Grey or Cydia trasias Meyrick) were the dominant species from mid-May to early June.Tetranychus truncates Ehara were the dominant species from early in June to in mid-July. Aphis robiniae Mzcchiati and Cyamophila willieti Wu were dominant species from late July to mid-August.Cydia trasias Meyrick was dominant species from August to late September, the last generation larvae of Semiothisa cinerearia Bremer et Grey become the main control pests from late September to early October.Third, according to the number change of the growth and decline of pests , various control measures such as pesticides spray, or the pesticide injection trunk ,or hanging sex pheromone ,or other pest control methods, were taken in order to control Semiothisa cinerearia Bremer et Grey,Aphis robiniae Mzcchiati,Cydia trasias Meyrick,Tetranychus truncates Ehara, ect. in the growing season of Sophora japonica Linn. the results show that 2500 times of 24.5% propargite EC had the best insecticidal effect for all instars of Tetranychus truncates Ehara. 5000 times of 20% cetamiprib WP had the best insecticidal effect for Drosicha corpulenta Kuwana. Shudaifu had the apparent insecticidal effect for Semiothisa cinerearia Bremer et Grey by trunk injection. at the same time, the duration of efficacy has over 40 day for Aphis robiniae Mzcchiati. 5,084 male adult of Cydia trasias Meyrick were trapped on the 2400 Sophora japonica with 1200 tempt the core by hanging sex pheromone .Fourth, Sustainable control model of pest of S. japonica were analyzed by experiment . Drosicha corpulenta Kuwana was control by wrapping tape on the trees in order to prevent pests before the Spring Festival. It was found that spraying lime sulfur at a concentration of 5 baume on the tree before germination proved effective in killing the eggs and nymphs of Tetranychus truncates Ehara in bark sewn from early March to mid-March. Drosicha corpulenta Kuwana were controlled by spraying from time to time on the trees under tap from March to April. adult of Cydia trasias Meyrick were controlled by hanging sex pheromone in late April. Larva's of Semiothisa cinerearia Bremer et Grey and Cydia trasias Meyrick were major pests in May . prevention of pests were Aphis robiniae Mzcchiati, Cyamophila willieti Wu, icadella viridis from late May to early June. Tetranychus truncates Ehara is controlled from June to July. adults of Cydia trasias Meyrick were controlled by hanging sex pheromones in mid-July. pests of sucking mouthparts such as Aphis robiniae Mzcchiati ,Cyamophila willieti Wu and Cicadella viridis L. were major pests in August. Larva's of Cydia trasias Meyrick and Semiothisa cinerearia Bremer et Grey were mainly pests from September to October. the pupas of Semiothisa cinerearia Bremer et Grey were looked into in order to control pests by excavation for the pests'lot in November.
