Dendroctonus valens LeConte, which belongs to Scolytidae, Coleoptera, invade China from North American in 80 20th century,80 years of forestry in China. After it outbreak in Shanxi in 1999, it quickly spread to Henan, Hebei, Shaanxi and broke out, and make the host Pinus tabulaeformis Carr. die, causing a serious damage to the local forestry and ecological environment. It also spread to Beijing in 2005. In order to control the Dendroctonus valens LeConte effectively, this research has study on the push-pull strategies by verbenone and 3-carene, and analysed the effect on host selection, aggregation hazards and reproduction by verbenone and also study the interaction between verbenone and others emiochemicals. This research provide new methods and theoretical support to pest control of Dendroctonus valens LeConte. EAG and filed study have been carried out in this research, we found a new way by using repellent and attractant to control Dendroctonus valens LeConte. Specific results as follows:1. According to the results of EAG, it shows that the 3-carene and verbenone can cause a certain valens antennae for both male and female. Under low concentration, male is more sensitive to the verbenone, but less sensitive to the 3-careen.2. Filed study shows that verbenone can trigger positive attracted respond to Dendroctonus valens LeConte while volume ratio between verbenone and 3-carene was 0.5:100, the trapping capacity increased by 88.6%±39.2%; when the volume ration gets 0.1:100,0.2:100,1.0:100, it can also make the 3-carene more attractive, while the volume ration gers 1.5:100, the trapping capacity decreased by 70.5%±11.3%. These phenomenon indicated the existing threshold of verbenone as additive of 3-carene which split the synergistic effects into attraction and avoidance. Therefore, the verbenone can have promising applying vision in the Dendroctonus valens LeConte control and inspection as both attractive and avoidant synergistic agent.3. Evaluating repellent effect of verbenone to re control. The results show that verbenone produced by Canada or myself both can control red turpentine beetle effectively. Moreover, the invention of repellent verbenone in this research is lower cost, easy-to-promotion and production, simple to use. Using verbenone as a repellent is an effective way to control red turpentine beetle4. The result of exploration "push-pull" strategy of the red turpentine beetle control shows that using attractant and repellent in the same time under certain would improve the red turpentine beetle trapping volume, and effectively control the "surrounding hazard ". Meanwhile, suggestion a repellent formulation, namely nonanal:3-octanol:Anti-2--hexenal:salicylaldehyde:verbenone weight ratio were 1:1:1:1.2:1.5 can make 3-careen hast its best effection.
