With the global climate warming and the population increasing as well as the water shortage and uneven distribution in the word, about countries are suffering the water shortage badly, including China. It is now well known that there are many physical methods to improve drought resistance of agriculture has become important research topic in the word's agricultural production in recent yeas。In this paper, we used electric treat oil sunflower seeds to research the impact of drought-resistant seeding, and It is had great significance to enhance drought-resistant oil sunflower research by using physical means. In this study the oil sunflower seeds were exposed to different Electric field intensity and frequency for 5 min and 10 min, respectively. The germination seeds were treated with 20%(w/v) PEG-6000 solution to drought stress and Seedling growth to water stress. The effects of physiological and biochemical variables in these stress conditions were studied. The electric treatment showed that the germination rate of oil sunflower seeds was increased and also elevated the activity of superoxide dismutase(SOD) and superoxide dismutase(POD) and lowered the content of malondialdehyde (MDA), which is production of Lipid peroxidation. Moreover, it may changed the height of stems and the length of roots, improve relative water content and reduce seedling root-shoot ratio of the seeding growth.Analysis of the experimental results leads to the conclusion that the optimal electric exposure with a value of 4kV/cm and a frequency of 11 kHz was carried out for 10 min. The germination rate increased 22.28%, and also the activity of superoxide dismutase(SOD) and superoxide dismutase(POD) were respectively elevated 16.05%,18.68%, malondialdehyde (MDA) content and root-shoot ratio reduce 13.17% and 12.63%, relative water content improve 5.44% compared with CK2.
