High-powered tractor is a machinery-equipment and technology-intensive product, it is one of the most important symbols to assess a country's equipment and technology level. The operation units of tractor and various implements have made great contributions to national economic construction, but they also bring many problems such as high energy, high expenditure and large emissions. So how to improve units operation performance characteristic, increase its traction efficiency and fuel economy have become a target of scientific researchers in vehicle study field.In this paper, we firstly took discrete dynamics as base to analyze module mathematical models of balance operation unit including tractor unit force balance, wheels vertical load, wheel driving slip ratio and power balance; Secondly , built tractor traction force and traction efficiency models on the basis of before mathematical analysis, and then did optimization analysis of traction efficiency in MATLAB; Thirdly, set up a three-dimensional model and did parameter extraction in CATIA KWA module; finally, established a high-powered Parameter Matching System by using VB to do further development of CATIA through Automation API. The system function interface includes login interface, parameter input interface and output interface. The input interface covers parameters of tractor working state and structure. In this paper, we illustrated the system implementation process by power matching of tractor parameter module. The output parameter of matching value and tractor dimension were automatically set to the right values after assigning values to input parameter, and then the tractor three-dimensional model was driving to create. The experiment result shows that this unit matching system has characteristics of friendly interface, convenient operation and high reliability.Parametric design is an organic collection aims at product design, which is based on computer hardware and software technology, assists in digital information and supports product modeling, analysis, modification and optimization. The final results of accordance between simulation conclusions and parameter modeling optimization calculation indicats that parametric modeling-based method for tractor-implement combinations achieved the expected requirements, and also fully proved that the application of parametric design method to agricultural machinery design can break through traditional design methods, shorten the research cycle, cut down expenses and have an important significance to improve the design level of agricultural machinery.
