High-powered tractor is a machinery-equipment and technology-intensive product, it is one of the most important symbols to assess a country's equipment and technology level. With the rapid development of China's rural economy, the expansion of agricultural production scale and the significantly rise of agricultural mechanization, an increasing demand for high-powered tractor with high efficiency and good safety appeareds. However, while the high-powered tractor meets the dynamic needs of modern agricultural production, it also brings many problems such as high energy, high oil content and large emissions. In order to achieve the maximum unit benefit, get longer service life, improve its working efficiency and fuel economy, tractor-implement combinations must be designed and matched reasonably.In this paper, we used dynamic analysis to study the high-powered rotary unit, to establish an overall rotary cultivator parametric model which is based on the impact of rotary parameters for power consumption. Mathematic model was built for power matching, optimization and simulation. We can strongly feel that the application of parametric design method provids practicality and convenience for high-powered rotary unit study.Firstly, built an overall rotary tiller parametric model, identified objective functions and restrictions; Secondly, built a three-dimensional model of rotary cultivator through CATIA, with which, a high-powered four-wheel drive tractor can do farming and site preparation work as a whole unit; Thirdly, did parameters extraction of rotary cultivator 3D model in CATIA KWA module, created a dimension driven rotary cultivator physical model, while the design table of blade through EXCEL document was set up; Finally, established a high-powered Rotary Parameter Matching System by using VB to do further development of CATIA through Automation API, this system including three modules of high-powered tractor, hanging devices and rotary cultivator. This paper illustrated implementation process of system by analyzing power matching in Rotary Cultivator Parameter Matching module.Parametric design is an organic collection aims at product design, which is based on computer hardware and software technology, assists in digital information and supports product modeling, analysis, modification and optimization. The final results of accordance between experiment conclusions and parameter modeling indicates that parametric modeling-based method for tractor-implement combinations achieved the expected requirements, and also fully proved that the application of parametric design method to agricultural machinery design can break through traditional design methods, shorten the research cycle, cut down expenses and have an important significance to improve the design level of agricultural machinery.
