Potted plant experiments conducted to study the influence of plant growth substance on grow development, physiological characteristic, dry matters accumulation and curing characteristic at the upper leaf of flue-cured tobacco (NC89) from 2005 in Experiment Science park of Henan Agriculture University; Meanwhile, field experiment conducted to study the effect of plant growth substance on yield,value, interior chemical components, the neutrality volatile aroma and physical characteristic. The results as follow:1. After prayed plant growth substance, it have a great effect on increasing areas compared with CK about the 5 top leaves, the whole leaves and below the 5 top leaves. Compared to CK, except T5, the others could reach significantly different about the 5 top leaves' area; All of treatments could achieve significantly different about the whole leaves' area; And T1, T2, T4, T7 achieved significantly different about below the 5 top leaves' area. According to the 3 indexes, the better treatments are TI, T4 and T7.2. From the continuous change on organizational structure of upper leaf, accompanied by times going on in the measuring procedures, leaf's thickness, palisade tissue's thickness and spongy tissue's thickness were increasing, as the palisade tissue's density was decreasing. Considered as the fortieth day's result after topping, compared to CK, except T4, others have a effect on reducing the thickness of upper leaf;All of treatments could decrease palisade tissue's thickness, and T1,T5,T6 achieved significantly different; Except T5,others spongy tissue's thickness larger than CK, especially T2 and T4; Except T6,others could decrease palisade tissue's density, and T1 is the best; In variously extent, all of treatments could be improved various extent, compared with CK, T1,T2,T6,T7 were significantly.3. In the measuring procedures, NR activity of upper leaf has a drop tendency, except T5, T6, others NR activity higher than CK. And concerned with α—amylase activity, it shows different changing in the measuring procedures, CK was "up-down-up-down-up" changing tendency, T1 was "up-down" single peak tendency,T2,T3,T4,T6,T7 were "up-down-up" as"N",T5 was "up-down-up-down" as "M" two peaks tendency.
