An Analysis Of The Growth And Development Parameters And The Life Table Parameters Of Adelphocoris Suturalis Jakovlev Feeding On Nine Breeds Of Cotton, And Electrical Penetration Graphs Of A.Suturalis

The mirids have become key insect pests in Bt cotton fields because of a reduction in the number of insecticide applications against Helicoverpa armigera in Bt cotton fields. Their damage to cotton could increase further with the expansion of Bt cotton-growing areas if no additional control measures are adopted. The present paper analyzed of the growth and development parameters and the life table parameters of Adelphocoris suturalis Jakovlev feeding on nine breeds of cotton and studied electrical penetration graphs of A.suturalis. The results are as fellows: 1. Analysis of the growth and development parameters and the life table parameters of A.suturalis feeding on nine breeds of cottonThe grouth and development parameters and the life table parameters of an experimental population of A.suturalis feeding on nine breeds of cotton were analysed at the photoperiod of 16 hrs light (30℃ and 80% RH): 8 hrs dark (25℃ and 90% RH). The results showed that there were slightly differences in the development duration, survival rate, fecundity and longevity of adult among A.suturalis reared on nine breeds of cotton.The mean lengths of a generation while the insects were reared on Zhong40, Zhong43, Zhong41, Zhiza088, Zhong12, Chunaizao, GK19, SGK321 and Shiyuan321 were 39.047d, 40.852d, 38.368d, 50.235d, 39.387d, 36.911d, 38.577d, 41.344d and 38.013d; the survival rates of nymph on Zhong40, Zhong43, Zhong41, Zhiza088, Zhong12, Chunaizao, GK19, SGK321 and Shiyuan321 and shiyuan321 were 63.33%, 75.86%, 84.62%, 86.67%, 89.66%, 82.76%,90.32%, 87.88% and 93.33%; the intrinsic rate of natural increase of population developed on Zhong40, Zhong43, Zhong41, Zhiza088, Zhong12, Chunaizao, GK19, SGK321 and Shiyuan321 were 0.072, 0.079, 0.088, 0.037, 0.085, 0.077, 0.063, 0.073 and 0.075.
