Adelphocoris suturalis Jakovlev (Heteroptera:Miridae) has bacome a most important pest of cotton in China at present. They prefer to feed on flower buds, and causing them to abscise from the plant. It caused 20%-30% lost, even 60%-70%. The control of A. suturalis is difficult due to cryptic behavior and highly mobile of adults. The insecticide control measure is harmful to natural enemy. So studies of sex pheromone of plant bug, A. suturalis is usefull to forecast and explore a new control method. The results are below:1 Circadian rhythm of sex pheromone in the female of A. suturalis and the effect of light on its mating activityThe emergence activity of A. suturalis occurred throughout the day, and 27.41% during in 5:00-9:00. The frequency of emergence between both sexes were no significant difference during 24 h, and did not show diel rhythm. Y-tube bioassays showed that virgin female could strongly attract male, and consider evidence of sex pheromone in female. Virgin females attracted males from 4 to 18 days old,11 days old was the most quantity, and 8-11 days old was the lasting period. The attraction phenomenon just took place in scotophase, the highest attractive effects occurred from 19:00 to 21:00. Virgin females did not lure males in photophase. The mating behavior also affected by photoperiod. It only been found in 22:00-5:00. The highest mating frequency occurred during 23:00-0:00. In a word, the production and release of sex pheromone of A. suturalis showed obvious circadian rhythm.2 Observation on antennal sensilla of A. suturalis with scanning electron microscopyThe antennae of A. suturalis are threadlike, and made up of scapus, pedicle and flagella. Flagella consists of two sub-segments. There are four types of sensilla found on the antennae. We identified them as sensilla chaetica, sensilla trichodae, sensilla basiconca, and bohm bristles. There are two types for sensilla trichodae. Some bohm bristles formed sensilla cluster on antenna of nymphae. Sensilla chaetica and long-vertical sensilla trichodae are the most distribution on antennae, bohm bristles is the second, long curve sensilla trichodae and sensilla basiconca are the last. 3 Effects of Supplementary Different Nutrition on the development of A.suturalisThe choose test results showed that Kidney bean+honey could attract the most bugs(Precent responding 46.67%), having significant difference with the other two nutritions. Attractive effects of Kidney bean+pollen and Kidney bean is equivalent, precent responding respectively is 18.67% and 21.33%. Nymphae, fecundity and hatching rate were significantly different amongst the three nutritions. While survival rate of nymphae and life span were not significantly different. Different nutritions could arose different effects on development and reproduction. Kidney bean+honey was a perfect nutrition for A. suturalis in laboratory condition.4 Identification and screening of active components from crude extracts and aerationsThree components in female extracts elicited EAG responses, including hexyl butyrate, octyl butyrate, hexyl acetate. The responses elicited by hexyl butyrate was stronger than the other two compounds, while the responses elicited by hexyl acetate was the most faintest. Male extracts elicited only one faint response from the male antennae, it was hexyl acetate. E-2-octenyl acetate; Oxalic acid, allyl nonyl ester; Propanoic acid, 2-methyl-, pentyl ester and 11-octadecenoic acid, Methyl ester were just found in female extracts, but they all did not elicit responses from male antennae. Hexyl butyrate, 2-Pentadecanol and Propanoic acid,2-methyl-, hexyl ester were also identified in aerations of both female and male. Field test results showed that hexyl butyrate and octyl butyrate were the key components of sex pheromone of A.suturalis. Hexyl acetate maybe a component could arose feeding behavior. We also determine the best proportion(3:2:1) to lure male individual by field test.
