The Pelteobagrus fulvidraco were raised 8 weeks with the feed that added 3 foreign pigments and feed stocks containing pigments. The influence of adding different kinds of pigments on growth, physiological function and the change of body color were studied by studying the growth rate, feed efficiency, the change of body-color, the content of pigments in skin and physiological character of Pelteobagrus fulvidraco. The special growth rate of Pelteobagrus fulvidraco each group had no remarkable difference after raising 8 weeks. The protein efficiency rate of the groups which were added pigments were lower than control group. The protein efficiency rate of Carophyii-Red group, Jinhuangsu group and Corn gluten meal group were significantly lower than control group by 26.2%,25.1%,24.9% respectively while Goldenrod group was lower than control group by 13.3% and had no significantly difference between them. The feed efficiency of control group, Jinhuangsu group and Corn gluten meal group were 2.29±0.19,3.14±0.29 and 3.17±0.45 respectively. Among them, the feed efficiency of control group was significantly lower than Jinhuangsu group and Com gluten meal group, but it had no remarkable difference with Carophyii-Red group and Goldenrod group. The additation of Jinhuangsu and Goldenrod in feed (effectual content is 100mg/kg) can make the Pelteobagrus fulvidraco grow to attaining the 90% survival rate and was higher than control group. The additation of pigments in feed had no effect on improving the bowel/body and hepatopancreas/body of the Pelteobagrus fulvidraco while they would has some effect on the content of fat in hepatopancreas of the Pelteobagrus fulvidraco. The content of fat in hepatopancreas in Jinhuangsu group were significantly lower than control group by 18.2% (p<0.05) , but the content of fat in hepatopancreas of the Pelteobagrus fulvidraco in other groups changed little.
