Seabuckthorn( Hippophae rhamnoides L.) is a sort of medicinal plant that has high value. Our country has abundant resource of seabuckthorn.A large number of fruits of seabuckthorn were used to squeeze syrup. The marc that have abundant flavonoids was regarded as wastes.In order to take full advantage of resource of seabuckthorn, taking the marc of seabuckthorn as material,analysis of flavonoids and others, extraction of total flavonoids of Hippophae, and separation of monomer flavonoid were studied in this paper.A preliminary test on chemical composition of fruit marc of seabuckthorn was accomplished.The analysis of chemical composition of fruit marc showed that the marc contains abundant available matter. The flavonoids content reached 9.82 mg/g ,the vitamin E content reached 1.129mg/g,and the fat content was 28.5 %,which contains plenty of unsaturated fatty acid that was beneficial to human's body.There are large quantity and many types of amino acids in the fruit marc and the essential amino acids to human occupied 61.57% in the total.In conclusion,the fruit marc of seabuckthorn which now think as one kind of waste has potential value of exploitation.The ultrasonic extraction of total flavonoids in the fruit marc of seabuckthorn were studied. The extraction process of total flavonoids was optimized with orthogonal experiment. Optimum extraction conditions were determined as follows: the mixture solution of Ethyl acetate and 95 % Ethanol (3︰7) as extracting solvent, stock ratio 1︰10 (mass: volume), temperature 50℃, time 30 min.On the basis of this technology condition, the extraction rate is 96.3%.Four compounds of the marc were separated and purified by column chromatography of silica gel and Sephadex LH-20. CompoundⅠwas identified as Triterpene. CompoundⅡ,Ⅲ,Ⅳwere identified as flavonoids.On the basis of chemical action and spectral data analysis,compound II and III were identified as Isorhamnetin and Quercetin respectively. Isorhamnetin occupied 23.7% in coarse total flavonoids.So Isorhamnetin is main composition of total flavonoids in fruit marc of seabuckthorn.Flavonoids of seabuckthorn are main pharmacological components in the marc.It have a wide range of physiological functions such as inhibition of cholesterol, antioxidant,...
