Tamarix hispida Willd., a medicinal plant, which belongs to the Tamarix Linn., spreads widely in Xinjiang. It is a kind of traditional Chinese medicine with a long history. And it is used for its chronic bronchitis and urgent or chronic nephritis activities and so on. This study was based on the research on the Tamarix hispida Willd.. It optimized the optimal condition of the extraction of the total flavonoids and the polysaccharide by the ultrasonic-assisted. And it furthered the research on features which is about the adsorption and scavenging to the abstraction of flavonoids. Also it was an inspection on the related technological conditions. It was a research on scavenging the radical reactivities on the purified total flavonoids.1. The optimum condition to extract the total flavonoids by ultrasonic waves: The proportion of the stuff and the liquid should be 1:15. The time under ultrasonic conditions should be 40 minutes, and the temperature should be 50℃. And the concentration of the ethanol should be 45 %. Next do the extraction for 3 times. Then the yield of the total flavonoids from the flowers, leaves and stems of Tamarix hispida Willd. would be 24.585 mg/g, 25.623 mg/g, 41.726 mg/g.2. The optimum condition to extract the polysaccharide by ultrasonic waves: The proportion of the stuff and the liquid should be 1:60. The time under ultrasonic conditions (after 1 hour of dipping in hot water) should be 20 minutes. The ultrasonic power should be 300 W. Then the yield of the polysaccharide from the flowers, leaves and stems of Tamarix hispida Willd. would be 3.95 mg/g,16.75 mg/g,7.26 mg/g.3. AB-8 macroporous absorption resin was optimal for purification total flavonoids. the optimum static state factors for adsorption: The pH of flavonoids solution should be 4.66. The time for adsorption under room temperature 25℃should be 3 hours and the absorption capacity was determined to be 28.4 mg/g and its desorption rate was up to 96.3 %. The optimum dynamic state factors for desorption: The pH should be 4.66 as well. And the velocity of adsorption and desorption should be 1 ml/min, volume of 60 % ethyl alcohol was better.4. The solution of the total flavonoids has a good stability under the condition of momentary sunlight, moderate temperature and mild acid. But in alkaline or saline solution, it would be unstable. However, it has good free radicals scavenging capacity, especially has a higher scavenging capacity than VC to·0H when the concentration is 1.0 mg/ml.To sum up, those conclusion can provide the useful information for making use of Tamarix hispida Willd..
