This experiment mainly studied on the causes of spongy tissue disorder in Zihua mango(Mangifera indica L.) fruit, which included the relationship between the spongy tissue incidence and fruit dimension index (including fruit maturity, single fruit weight, fruit length and width, fruit shape index, varieties), as well as elements nutrients of calcium, potassium, nitrogen, etc. The results showed that:1. Spongy tissue disease occurred at the late stage of fruit development, 15 days before fruit matured. The higher maturity the fruit was in, the severer the disease occurred.2. There were very significant correlations between spongy tissue incidence and fruit size which suggested that spongy tissue incidence got severe as the single fruit weight, fruit length and width increased. The larger the fruit was, the severer the disease occurred. When the single fruit weight was 201-250g, 251-300g, 301-350g, 351-400g, 401-450g and ≥451g, the occurred rate were 4.3%, 5.0%, 23.8%, 27.8%, 28.6% and 50%, respectively.3. There was a remarkable correlation between spongy tissue incidence and fruit shape index. The higher the value was, the severer the disease...
