Multi-function aquasorb has become a new technique of chemical saving water in recent years. It can raise drought resistance, keep soil water and provide fertilizer for crops. But it is short of studying on use criterions, applying techniques and basic theories of multi-function aquasorb. So applying and popularizing of multi-function aquasorb are limited. Its theories need perfect. Based on the existent problems of aquasorb in practice and theory, the field experiment was carried in South NingXia Pengyang country. The field belongs to semi-arid area. Both spring drought and poor soil are key limiting factors of productivity. The purpose of the experiment was to study effects on physiological ecology, growth, yield and water use efficiency (WUE) to use potassium aquasorb, natrium aquasorb, humous aquasorb, inorganic aquasorb, organic-inorganic aquasorb and liquid membrane at seedtime.The main results were as follows:1. Different aquasorbs can boost burgeon rate. Liquid membrane can raise soil temperature 0.5-1.5℃. So its burgeoning rate was the highest in all aquasorbs and burgeoned 5 days earlier than control treatment (CK). For three kinds of multi- function aquasorb: humous aquasorb, inorganic aquasorb and organic-inorganic aquasorb, their burgeoning rates were higher and can burgeon 2-3 days earlier than CK. But single aquasorb had a little effect.2. The photosynthetic rate of potato leaves was enhanced in seedling stage in different treatments. The stomatal conductance of leaves was optimized, invalidation transpiration was decreased and WUE (Pn/Tr) was increased in applying inorganic aquasorb and potassium aquasorb. All multi-function aquasorbs can prolong potato growth period and increase dry biomass. Multi-function aquasorb can prolong time for 8-12 days, single aquasorbs can prolong time for 7 days.3. Different treatments can improve growth of potatoes, increase leaf area and dry biomass. But the effects of different treatments were not same in different stages. Inorganic aquasorb was good to all stages. Potassium aquasorb had evident effects on seedling stage and florescence. Humous aquasorb had effects on florescence and tuber growing stage markedly. But liquid membrane and organic-inorganic aquasorb was only good to seedling stage.4. Different aquasorbs can improve soil water on different degree. Liquid membrane can...
