Stellera chamaejasme L. belongs to Stellera L. Thymelaeaceae, heavily toxic. This thesis made a systematic research about its application on anti-fungal. The antifungal activity of Stellera chamaejasme L. was tested in vitro against E.coli, S.aureas, Candida albicans, T.purpureatum, T.gypsum, M.gypsum, and E.floccosum respectively. In this paper, the author extracted from the root of Stellera chamaijasme L. with anhydrous ethanol, and made gradient extraction from it with different solvents. The results showed that Stellera chamejasme L. has significant antifungal activity against test pathogens. The maximum mean diameter of antibiotic circle of ethyl acetate extract in 33.33g/L against bacteria is 12.02mm and against epiphyte is 9.04mm.A high purity and high active ingredient was isolated by by a series of methods such as TLC, normal phase chromatography, and the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) was 9.8 mg· L-1. It was light yellow oil, showing fluorescence in UV. The structure was determined by the spectrum data. This work was the basis of using the root of Stellera chamaejasme L. to produce new natural antifungal medicine.
