Study And Application Of Production Technology Of Mutton Sheep In Agricultural Of Yumen County

A study on lamb production capability under conditions of different cross combinations, different fattening(pasture and yard feeding)quomodoes has been taken in Yumenzhen, Xiaxihao and Huangzhawan of yumen county,using the 3-4 months' weaned lamps,which included Suffolk×Small-Tail Han sheep F₁,Poll Dorset×Small-Tail Han sheep F₁,and Mongolia sheep.The feed formula of fattening lamb has been screened at the same time.The results showed that the meat production performances such as daily gain,carcass weight and yield of in carcass of two crosses were markedly higher than those of local Mongolia sheep. The heterosis and the economic effect were marked.The daily gain,carcass weight,yield of carcass,meat percentage and the quality of mutton were higher in yard feeding sheep than those of the pasture sheep and had higher economic effect.The fattening effect in mutton sheep feeding with clover instead of part of protein feed was good.Whereas it was inadvisable to feed overmuch clover and the proportion in ration about 20%should be appropriate.Based on these results,six representative townships of Yumen County,which included Yumenzhen,Xiaxihao,Huangzhawan,Liuhe,Qingquan and Chijin,were selected as demonstration regions for extension of systematized techniques for barn feeding in mutton sheep.Crossing systems for crossbreeding of Suffolk,Poll Dorset and Small-Tail Han sheep were established.The systematized techniques for bam feeding of mutton sheep and the mode of raising livestock with planting grass were popularized.Two quick fattening -mutton sheep modes were spreaded,including quick fattening mode of weaned lamb and quick fattening mode of the rejected sheep from different areas.The technology of embryo transfer in mutton sheep was demonstrated.Four demonstration plots of barn feeding in mutton sheep were established,including 750 demonstration households.The amount of crossbred mutton sheep has added up to 61 thousand in four years.The program had good effects on demonstration and popularization.It led to the combination of production and technique,increased the raising level,changed the farmers' concept,had obvious economic,social and ecological benefits and provided good experiences and modes for the industrialization of mutton sheep in rural region in JiuQian or even in whole Gansu Province.
