The polymorphism of kappa-casein gene and 8 microsatellite DNAmarkers as well as their effects on production performance were analyzed in the 200wool rabbit population.The results showed that two alleles (A, B) of kappa-casein gene were detectedand their frequencies were 0.7971 and 0.2029, three genotypes (AA, AB and BB)were detected and their frequencies were 0.6824, 0.2294, 0.0882, respectively.Analysis on the relation between the different genotypes of kappa-casein gene andproduction performance of wool rabbits. Two genotypes (AA, BB) have a significanteffect on the 315-day body weight (P<0.05), two genotypes (AB, BB) have asignificant effect on the number born of wool rabbit (P<0.05) and two genotypes (AA,BB) have a significant effect on the 21-day litter weight (P<0.05). Through the x~2 test,there are kappa-casein gene locus on which the genetic distribute not reachHardy-Weinberg equilibrium.In this study, the genotypes of 8 loci were also detected in the 200 wool rabbitsby the microsatellite marker. There are 61 alleles on the 8 loci of the 200 wool rabbitspopulation, on average of 7.63 allele per locus. The most number of allele is 10 onsat4 and so133, and the least is 5 on sat12 locus. The average of polymorphisminformation content (PIC) is 0.7980, and heterozygosis is 0.8255, their big and smallarrange is sat4, so133, sat5, sat13, so144, Sat2, Sat7 and sat12 in 8 loci of the woolrabbit population, from the result of the statistical analysis, we could conclude that therate of homogeneity is relative lower, whereas the genetic variation is higher.The relation between the microsateltite marker and the hair quality trait of woolrabbit was also analyzed. The results showed that sat2 locus have a extremelysignificant effect on the shag diameter, fuzz diameter and fuzz length (P<0.01), aswell as have a significant effect on the shag length(P<0.05); sat4 locus have aextremely significant effect on the fuzz length (P<0.01), as well as have a significanteffect on the shag length, fuzz diameter and the ratio of shag (P<0.05); sat5 locushave a extremely significant effect on the fuzz diameter, shag diameter and shag length (P<0.01), as well as have a significant effect on the fuzz length and the ratio ofshag (P<0.05); sat7 locus have a extremely significant effect on the shag diameter,fuzz diameter, fuzz length and the ratio of shag (P<0.01), as well as have a significanteffect on the shag length (P<0.05); sat12 locus have a extremely significant effect onthe fuzz length and shag diameter (P<0.01), as well as have a significant effect on thefuzz diameter (P<0.05); sat13 locus have a extremely significant effect on the shagdiameter, fuzz diameter, fuzz length, shag length and the ratio of shag (P<0.01);so133 locus have a extremely significant effect on the shag diameter, fuzz diameterand fuzz length (P<0.01), shag length (P<0.05); so144 locus have a extremelysignificant effect on the shag diameter, fuzz diameter, fuzz length and shag length(P<0.01), as well as have a significant effect on the fuzz length and the ratio of shag(P<0.05).The relation between the microsatellite marker and the production trait of woolrabbit was also analyzed.
