Technological Advancement In Agriculture And Its Effects In Jangsu Province Since The Founding Of The P.R.C

Jiangsu, one of the coastal provinces, is not only known with a fine tradition of precise farming, but to create a modern agricultural technology. It can be said that the developing process of agriculture as well agricultural technology in Jiangsu Province is the miniature of that of China.Based on the relevant researches of the academe, and according to the theories of the relationship between agriculture and national economy, technological advancement and agricultural development, this paper, analyzes many problems by using the State's authoritative statistics, and applying the combination of research methods of qualitative and quantitative analysis.This paper systematically recalls the developing course of agricultural technology in Jiangsu province since the founding of the PRC. It introduces various types of improvement like crop breeding, cultivation techniques, pest and disease control techniques, soil fertility techniques, infrastructure construction and farm land-use techniques, as well as in agricultural mechanization, and also analyzes the main backgrounds of the technological advancement. One is the stimulation from the agricultural backwardness as well as from the demand by the population growth and industrial development; another is the promotion from a series of technological policies and technology spreading organizations and system; and the third is from the introduction of foreign advanced technologies. Technological advancement causes increase in crop output, agricultural production value, and land productivity. And by reviewing the relationship between agricultural technology and agricultural production value in Jiangsu, we find that agricultural technology and agricultural production value develop a lot during the period of Cultural Revolution in Jiangsu Province, which is different from the condition of the whole country.Technological advancement is a basic approach to the increase in agricultural output and peasants' income, and also a key step to fulfill agricultural modernization.
