With the development of Facility Agriculture, various new techniques have beenutilized in Smart Greenhouse Control System and show wide development prospects,including the embedded technology, the Ethernet communication technology and thewireless sensor networks. However, the research of Smart greenhouse control systemin china still lags behind that of developed countries. How to conform the variousgreenhouse control techniques with the situation of China, how to make use newtechnology to solve the deficiencies in current greenhouse monitoring and controlsystem, how to further exert the effectiveness of greenhouse, all of these have becomehot topics in this field. A Smart Greenhouse Control System based on IEEE1451.2standard and ZigBee protocol has been designed and developed for the sustentationfund 2005 science and technology project of Zhejiang Province -"research on keytechnology of the low cost and applicable environment measurement-control systembased on embedded technology in facility agriculture".The contents and achievements of this article including:1. The strong current installation of greenhouse objected Smart greenhousecontroller has been designed and developed. The controller employs the PIC16F877single chip as core IC, provides the universal interface, it can receive the instruction atreal-time from host machine and control strong current installations, it have strongability of anti-interference against execrable environment.2. The network actuator consist of the controller and NetworkCapableApplication Processor(NCAP) has been designed on the foundation of thegreenhouse network sensor based on IEEE1451.2, Transducer Electronic Data Sheet(TEDS) has been used in the actuator to make it plug and play in the Ethernetmonitoring and control system.3. Wireless sensor network technology based on ZigBee has been proposed tomake the greenhouse control system wireless, intelligent and low cost. ZigBee protocol based greenhouse monitoring wireless system has been proposed instead ofthe IEEE1451.2 protocol based greenhouse monitoring system. The structure andfunction of the node, the network topology has been defined in this system.4. ZigBee protocol has been expounded, a Zigbee wireless module employedwith Jennic JN5121 System On Chip(SOC) has been worked out. The modulecomplete the establishment and management of the ZigBee wireless sensor networks,realize the communication between different nodes. The Smart greenhouse controllerand the wireless module combine to a wireless actuator, receive the instruction frommain node to control the strong current installation. Wireless actuator, wireless sensorand network co-ordinator constitute star topologized greenhouse wireless monitoringsystem.
