| Gross national production (GNP), per capita gross national production and farmers' per capita net income of Fujian Province rank the tenth, sixth and seventh in China, respectively. Fujian is one of the provinces in which farmers' net income increases fastest in our country. But its agricultural mechanization lags behind agriculture and rural economic development, particularly the comprehensive mechanization level including ploughing, cultivating and harvest ranks the twenty-fifth in China. One of its major causes is the lack of professional talents, declining of overall quality of the staff, and absence of senior talents. Therefore, the study on talents training in agricultural mechanization engineering in Fujian Province is necessary, which adopts investigation analysis and comparison analysis.According to the current status of agricultural mechanization engineering talents in Fujian Province, based on the importance of agricultural mechanization in the implementation of the scientific viewpoint of development and building a new socialist countryside, the major problems and shortcomings in the agricultural mechanization engineering talents in Fujian are analyzed, and it is concluded that the present talents training in agricultural mechanization engineering in Fujian can not satisfy the demand of economic and social development. Accordingly it is necessary to radically change the current status of the deficiency of talents training in agricultural mechanization engineering. In this paper, the factors affecting the staff quality in agricultural mechanization engineering in Fujian are analyzed, and the approaches to improve their quality are proposed as follows: (1) to update the conception and deepen the understanding on strengthening the talents training in agricultural mechanization engineering; (2) to take undergraduate education as basis and integrate professional education with incumbency training; (3) to deepen the reform and establish the scientific system for education and teaching in agricultural mechanization engineering; (4) to take measures for guiding and implementing the freshmen enrolment and graduates employment in the discipline of agricultural mechanization engineering. Meanwhile the modes of training in agricultural mechanization engineering ( or agricultural engineering) at colleges and universities in USA, Canada, France, New Zealand and the other provinces in China are analyzed. The idea to establish the undergraduate education system in agricultural mechanization engineering in Fujian Province is put forward. |
