Since the reform and opening up, China's dairy industry has rapidly developed. But backward technology and the high cost in Cowhouse construction has become a bottleneck of Cow-farming to large-scale development. Based on the cold northern climate characteristics, this paper discusses and selects the form of feeding technology, architecture and structure; educe the cowshed model according with the northern cold climate characteristics and the current development level of the dairy industry. This dissertation made the portal frame of light steel structure the object of study.This dissertation establishes mathematical model by regarding the least steel consumption as the goal function, based on the principles of finite element analysis (FEA) and the technology of Object Oriented Programming (OOP) in the software ANSYS. Relations between steel consumption and set of optimization, the section and the set of optimization are show and influence of steel consumption for different span and different column are also given.The research evinces the construction cost can be reduced by optimize design. Optimum technology has a better project applying value in structural design and provides a basic standardization for industrialization and assembly of the agricultural construction.
