A comparative study was conducted with rotational and continuous grazing on family ranches under Mongolia cattle stocking in Horqin SandLand. Plant populations and plant community were discussed in different sandland types. The results showed as follows:(1) There weren't significant differences on shrub height, coverage and density between two grazing systems. There wasn't influence on importance value taxis of shrub under different grazing systems.(2) Rotational grazing system enhanced importance value, height, coverage and density of community and Agriophyllum squarrosum in mobile sandland.(3) There weren't significant differences in height, coverage, density of Pennisetum centrasiaticum between two grazing systems in semi-fixed sandland. Rotational grazing system enhanced coverage, density of Lespedeza davurica. There weren't significant differences in height of Lespedeza davurica between two grazing systems. Rotational grazing system enhanced importance value of Pennisetum centrasiaticum, Lespedeza davurica, shrubs plants and perennial plants, decreased importance value of annual plants.(4) There weren't significant differences in height, coverage, density of Cleistogenes squarrosa between two grazing systems in fixed sandland. Rotational grazing enhanced coverage, density of Phragmites australis. There weren't significant differences in height of Phragmites australis. Rotational grazing decreased coverage, density of Lespedeza davurica. There weren't significant differences in height of Lespedeza davurica. There was influence on importance value of Cleistogenes squarrosa. Rotational grazing system decreased importance value of Lespedeza davurica, shrubs plants and perennial plants. Rotational grazing system enhanced importance value of annual plants and Phragmites australis.(5) Margalef richness index, Shannon-Wiener diversity index, Simpson dominance index of community in the rotational grazing area were higher than that of in the continuous grazing area in three types of sandland. The Morisita-Horn similarity coefficient of plant community in rotational grazing and continuous grazing are the highest in three types of sandland.(6) Rotational grazing system enhanced the standing crops of plant community in mobile sandland and fixed sandland. In the meantime, it also enhanced the standing crops of Caragana microphyll, Agriophyllum squarrosum in mobile sandland; Cleistogenes squarrosa, Lespedeza davurica, Phragmites australis in fixed sandland. There weren't significant differences in the standing crops of shrubs plants between rotational grazing area and continuous grazing area in fixed sandland and semi-fixed sandland. Rotational grazing system enhanced the standing crops of annual plants and perennial plants.
