IGF-I is a kind of bioactive peptide and it has direct influence on the growth, development, reproduction and nutritious metabolism of the organism, and it is also influences the proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis and carcinomatous change of the cells directly. 5 pairs of primers were designed in this experiment to amplify the IGF-I gene of Jilin White Goose, and SSCP technique was used to detect the polymorphism existed in the different fragments of IGF-1 gene. The SNPs in the test population was analyzed to investigate the relationship between the different genetypes and down traits. The results of PCR-SSCP showed that three genotypes (AA,BB,AB) were detected in primer303 .The gene frequencies for allele A and B were 0.5219 and 0.4781 in primer303.The chi-sequare test (X~2) showed the distribution of genotype of the primer 303 was significant different (P<0.01) among population, and this SNP loci was not in Hardy-Weinberg Equilibrium status (HWE).Sequencing results indicated that a mutation were detected in primer303.There were 93bp nucleotide site (C-T) in sequencing results.Statistical analyses of correlation showed that the genotype AA of the primer 303 was positive correlation to the length of the unfledged quill coverts on back and the length of the the grown quill-coverts on brisket, while genotype AB was negatively related. The result showed there are no difference for other characters (P<0.01).
