Aralia elata is a kind of important plant in Northeast area of China which not only high in nutrient values,but also in medicinal values.It's physiological metabolism very activeafter recovery, fresh and delicate in normol.It will loss it's water and other content,reduceit's food and economic value in 2 days.So it's very difficult to store and transport.The reports about post-harvest physiology and storage technology are seldom until now, which influenced the development of storage and process.So in this paper, postharvest physiology andstorage technology of Aralia elata were systematically studied under different storage temperature, different densities of GA3 and SA different heat treatment and different kinds of packing ways.In order to investigate the way of fresh-keeping of Aralia elata, respiratoty rate,weight loss,reducing sugar, MDA content,protein comtent,decay index,POD and PPO activitieswere measured during storage.The main research contents and results were as follow:1.The effect of low temperature on the storability. The low temperaturecan inhibit the respiratory intensity.The respiratory intensity and the temperature is a direct proportion. The low temperature benefits to the keeping Aralia elata sense nourishment quality and inhibitsthe activity of POD and PPO, delaying it's senescence.2. The effect of heat treatment on the storability.Heat treatment at 35℃for 10 min and 40℃for 10 min resulted in less decay incidence,inhibited respiratory rate,POD and PPO activities,maintained lower levels of delaying the senescence process and quality degrading. However,heat treatment at 45℃for 10 min had no beneficial effects on the rate of senescence and storage quality.3. The effect of GA3 on the storability.The result showed that after GA3 treatment,the postharvest physiology was controlled and the velocity of metabolism slowed,declination of quality was obviously improved,decay of Aralia elata was put off and the extentis abated compared to the untreated ones.And the best density of GA3 is 50mg/L.4. The effect of SA on the storability.Compared with CK,SA treatment had significant effects on keeping it's quality and delaying it's senescence,significantly inhibited the higher levels of respiratoty rate,retarding the increase POD and PPO activities peak.And the best density of SA was 0.3g/L.5. The effect of different packing ways on the storability.PE bag packing after chitosan coating is the best way for packaging Aralia elata.It has better adjust the qtmosphere and water than PE bag and bore PE bag,so it effective inhibited respiratory rate,depressed rottenrate and inhibited POD and PPO activities, maintain quality and prolong storage period,delayed it's senescence.
