The study on the propagational biological characteristics and nutritional value of Prinsepia uniflora Batal. was carried in TaoleGacha.Guchengchuan County . ErtuokeQianQi. Ordos city from 2005 to 2006.The study was the first to make a series of Exploration including seed propagation,cutting Propagation, flowering habit,Pollination Habit,mesocarp nutrient components and the first year stem and leaf nutrient components of Prinsepia uniflora Batal. And it also gave a scientific basis to the development and ultilization of Prinsepia uniflora Batal .The result showed that the seed coats could affect the germination rate of Prinsepia uniflora Batal. And the effect of mechanical treatment was the best during the four different treatment .The regreening stage of Prinsepia uniflora Batal.was in early middle March. And the budding period was in the end of April,the time of endflowering was in April 30th. The whole bundle flowering period was from 3 to 5days,bisexual floral and mainly with natural pollination. The time of fruit turning red and fruit ripening was in middle July. If there was no external force,the fruit was stayed in the branch until November . The mesocarp of Prinsepia uniflora Batal. contained sixteen amino acid,the total Quantity was (62.55mg/kg),also including five kinds of Vitamins,such as VitaminB1;VitaminB2;VitaminC;carotene and folic acid. The containing of carotene(430.35Mg/ kg )was the highest among them. Then the containing of VitaminC(186.60Mg/ kg).In the mesocarp of Prinsepia uniflora Batal also existed in inorganic elements,such as calcium,phosphorus, zinc, iron, selenium and so on . And the containing of calcium(548.50Mg/ kg) was the highest among them. The containing nutrition of stem and leaf was also higher. The containing of crude fat was 5.44% , crude protein content was (12.64%) , calcium content was( 0.91%),and phosphorus content was( 0.35%).The Prinsepia uniflora Batal is a strain bundle species which has many excellent features,also a shrub which is unutilized and which has significant ecological and economic value. The Prinsepia uniflora Batal is versatile and its economic value is quite high,especially the nucleolus of Prinsepia uniflora Batal has health Protection function.
