Along with the increasing of the world population and rapid development of the economy, it is a pressing issue for mankind to face shortage of energy. Due to the continuous deterioration of the environment and the enhancement of people's awareness of environmental protection, the substitute of CFCs which have led to the destruction of the ozone and the greenhouse effect, has attracted much attention.Ammonia is a kind of environment-friendly and natural refrigerant, there is no damage to the ozone layer, or the greenhouse effect, which is more widely used in refrigeration systems. Ammonia absorption refrigeration system is one of them. The refrigeration system can be driven by waste heat, which has become an important research direction in the refrigeration sector. Absorption-diffusion refrigeration system using ammonia refrigerant is one kind of absorption refrigeration systems., and uses auxiliary gas to equalize the pressures of system. This refrigeration system has no moving parts, vibration noise, and can be driven by a variety of energy, the heat source temperature is 113~130°C ,so more attention is paid to it in recent years.Based on the characteristics of absorption-diffusion refrigeration system, this paper uses biomass energy to drive the absorption refrigeration system, which provides a new way of exploring biomass energy. The refrigeration system is a kind of complementarity of electric refrigeration, which has a fairly broad application prospects. The content and conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)Based on the research at home and abroad, a small absorption-diffusion refrigerator is made in this paper, its volume is 50 liters. The refrigerant is ammonia., auxiliary gas is helium gas. The best input power of the refrigeration system is 0.2kw, which provides a basis for the design of furnace.(2)By determining the optimal input heat load of the furnace, a heat pipe furnace is designed in this paper, which is suitable for refrigeration system.(3)Using biomass stoves to provide energy for refrigeration equipment, conducted a series of experimental study. The problems to the prototype have been analyzed and proposed the improvement measures.(4)Based on the thermodynamic calculation of absorption-diffusion refrigeration, and obtained some relational curve on which some refrigeration operating mode parameters to COP of the circulation refrigeration. These curves establishments will have the significant instruction to the next designs and the experiments.(5)The COP of refrigeration system can reach 0.3, the experiments proved biomass energy adsorption refrigeration is feasible.
