Volvariella Volvacea, a Chinese straw mushroom, is a high-temperature-typedfungus. It belongs to basiomycetes, homobasidiomycetae, agaricales. It is nutritious, delicious and of medical value, thus it is popular with consumers. Therefore, it is widelycultivated both in China and abroad.Owing to its short period of storage after being picked up, Volvariella Vovacea suppliedfor the residents in the cities can only be cultivated in the rural areas. As a matter of fact, there is a large demand and great output of it in Suzhou. There are a great amount of rawingredients, different treatments and different methods, which will result in different outputand benefits. In order to improve the Volvariella Vovacea' output and lower the cost, thepaper made a research on different raw ingredients, formulation, different ways to fermentand crutial cultivation techniques. Meanwhile it also discusses the effects of VolvariellaVovacea' cultivation when it is added different rates of hay in compost so as to explore thebest formulation, whose main ingredient is hay to cultivate Volvariella Vovacea in, Suzhou, thus we can make full use of rich hay resources in Suzhou. The contents and results of the experiments are as follows:1 Here is the effect of fermenting treatment on Volvariella Vovacea' cultivation indifferent compost: compared to the cultivation of raw ingredients we made an experimenton zymotechnics of water-logged compost, twice regular zymotechnics and simple twicezymotechnics. The result shows that the cultivation effects of the simple twicezymotechnics is the best. The advantages of it lie on the characters of cultural materials, growth of mycelia, the control of plant diseases and insect pests, the output and quality ofVolvariella Vovacea, the cost of cultivation, and so on. It is a relatively reasonable methodof compost treatment.2 Different cultivation methods have different effects on Volvariella Vovacea'cultivation. We made a comparative experiment on bed-shaped cultivation and brick-shapedcultivation after twice fermentation in a compound compost of cottonseed hulls and hay.The result shows that compared to the bed-shaped cultivation the temperature of thecompost of brick-shaped cultivation after inoculation rises more quickly than that of the bed-shaped cultivation. It's earlier for mycelia to spread over the compost. At the same time,it is 1-2 days earlier when it produces mature Volvariella Vovacea. What's more, the outputof brick-shaped cultivation increases remarkably. All these indicate that the effect ofbed-shaped cultivation is the best.3 Different composts have different effects on the Volvariella Vovacea' output. We madea comparative experiment on the Volvariella Vovacea' cultivation in a compost of cottonwaste, cottonseedhulls, hay or straw, respectively. The result shows that while we usecotton waste as raw ingredient, the time that mycelia takes to spread over the compost isshortest, and the ingredient takes the shortest time to produce mature Volvariella Vovacea aswell as its highest output. All these shows that cotton waste is the most suitable rawingredient for Volvariella Vovacea growth.4 We made a choice of Volvariella Vovacea' prior compost in a main ingredient of hay.If the compost is composted of 56% hay, 30% cottonseed hulls, 10% grain hulls, 2%gypsum, 2% calcareousnesslime, the output of Volvariella Vovacea will be comparativelyhighest. And biological efficiency reaches 27.67%. Thus the cultivation effect of such kindcompost is prior to those other formulation.
