The Main Questions And Solutions In The Research And Extension Of The Super Hybrid Rice

The development of the super hybrid rice is related closely to the food security of our country.Tthe history and current situation about the super hybrid rice breeding at home and abroad are summarized. Meanwhile, on the basis of R & D of super hybrid rice in China, the main problems and possible solutions are discussed as followings:The research of the super hybrid rice, for breeding strategy, the three-line method which has complicated procedure in breeding will be discarded, the two-line will be preferred and the one-line will be studied further.For the design of the rice plant type, the simple static model will be abandoned, and the dynamic ideal model which is based on the ecology and physiology of rice will be studied further.For the technical strategy, super hybrid rice breeding should be conducted in combination of improving plant type and enlarging the genetic background of the parents.For the method of planting, the suitable super hybrid rice combinations should be selected and the simple,low-cost,high-yield technology should be studied, in accordance with the characteristics of different ecology region, so that the high-quality seeds will be planted by the suitable technology.The extension of the super hybrid rice,for the rice planting knowledge of farmers, the technical training should be strengthened, and the expert system for super hybrid rice should be set up quickly.For the environmental adaptation of super hybrid rice, based on the character of different regions, super hybrid rice combinations with wide adaptation, resistance to diseases and good quality should be bred, and different combinations should be demonstrated on different regions. For the marketing of super hybrid rice, production the rice bases should be established to accelerate the industrialization of the super hybrid rice.For the lagging of extension, the extension of super hybrid rice should play important role in food production, and should be organized in a planned and systematic way.
