For making clear the ecological resources of high grade paddy in Hunan province and advancing its sustainability, we must do some research on its particular ecological elements and its adaptability. According to the research on the special advantage of ecological resource, this essay studies the adaptability of high grade paddy in Hunan from the inherited element. From the climatic resource and soil resource in Hunan, this essay is studying the environmental element which is appropriate for the high grade paddy planting and the precautionary measures which focus on the meteorological forecast, and put forward some areas which are suitable for some varieties of mainly high grade paddies. From analyzing the effect of environment on the quality of rice to the promotion of cultivation with high production and better quality in accordance with local conditions, this research discovers that Hunan has high temperature all the year round, plentiful heat and a lot of rain, and the water and high temperature are almost in the same season, this kind of climate is very suitable for the high production and quick growth. The resource of high grade paddy breeds is very rich, and we have picked out 150 varieties of them (combinations). According to the division of the quality of national rice system and some characteristics, such as the geographical element, heat and light resources, and water resources and so on, we can divide Hunan province into 5 rice planting areas. Analyzing the characteristics of ecological resources in different planting areas, this essay puts forward some measures to develop high grade paddy in accordance with local conditions.According to the research above, it comes out that the natural element in Hunan is superior, most average content of soil organic matter are at 2-3%, esp. the soil of paddy field in the main production area, which can satisfy the needs of the cultivation of high grade paddy, the breeds of high grade paddy which are very suitable for planting are abundant, and the technology for cultivation is mature. However, it also has some disadvantages, such as the frequent natural disasters, the poison of mine does some harm to the soil in some paddy field. Focusing on different characteristics of ecological resources, this essay analyzes the varieties of high grade paddy which are suitable for the different planting areas, and it also has some guidance on how to choose the different varieties of high grade paddy which are suitable for planting and its development.
