Larix gmelini forest is a main timber forest in North of China. Because of traditionally long-term dependence of timber, Larix gmelini natural forest has been damaged. And the areas of plantation have been increasing .The plantation has are obvious funtions in this zone. Therefore, it is important to research biomass and carbon balance of Larix gmelini plantation. There is a close relationship between forest biomass and carbon storage capacity and the amount of biomass and carbon storage directly affect functions of forest ecosystem. So, biomass and carbon storage have been the focus of forest management research.This paper studied on Larix gmelini plantation in DoZheleng Reiver forest farm, and estimated the biomass models of larix gmelin, carbon storage, caborn density and the value of carbon sequestration function based on the forest inventory data and stem analysis data.Based on the measurement data and model analysis, fitting the biomass model of trunks, barks, branches and leaves, and the independent variables are H and DBH. The results showed a good linear relationship. Through graphics analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis, there were significant correlations between biomass and growing stock of Larix gmelini. The optional model is W=a+bV. The models are: Trunks: B=0.397C+4.2046; Barks: B=0.0424V+2.6266; Branches: B=0.083V+4.9661; Leaves: B=0.0214V+1.627, which showed good fairly linear relationship. The aboveground biomass also increases as volume increases and the linear equation is: B= 0.5399V + 14.013.Based on the forest inventory data and the models developed in this paper, the biomass and the carbon storage of Larix gmelini plantation are estimated. The total biomass is 19537.955t., total carbon storage is 10181.249t, and carbon density is 24.183t/hm2, and the value of carbon storage is $10,690,312. The capacity is not strong and carbon density is less than Chinese average forest carbon density. By scientific management, the carbon storage capacity of DongZheleng Reiver forest farm will be stronger.
