Endogenous antimicrobial peptides are an important component in innate immunity of organism,and the defensins are a big family in endogenous antimicrobial peptides.β-defensins are one of important component of defensins family.β-defensins are proved to be a component of antimicrobial barrier and they distribute prominently in muscosal epithelial cells of mammalians and Aves.It is more research ofβ-defensins in human and mouse in the reproductive tract,and fewer in mammalians at present.In this study, Electro—chemiluminescence immunoassay was used to detect the content of estradiol and progesterone in serum.RT-PCR analyses revealed that sBD-1 is expressed in female sheep reproductive tract.We research the relation of expression ofβ-defensins in female reproductive tract with estradiol and progesterone in serum.The results show,in the vagina,cervix,uterus,and fallopian tubes of sheep,the relation of expression of sBD-1 is different.The relation of expression of sBD-1 of cervix was significantly higher(P<0.01)than that of vagina,and higher(P<0.05)than that of uterus,and fallopian tubes.The relation of expression of sBD-1 of uterus was higher(P<0.05)than that of vagina,but there is no difference between uterus and fallopian tubes(P>0.05).The relation of expression of sBD-1 of fallopian tubes was higher(P<0.05)than that of vagina.In different oestrus,the relation of expression of sBD-1 is difference in same tissue(P<0.05),and show regularly change.The relation of expression of sBD-1 at day 6,9,12 is significantly higher(P<0.01)than that of day 0, higher(P<0.05)than that of day 3,but there is no difference between day 6 and day 9,12(P>0.05).The relation of expression of sBD-1 at day 3 is higher(P<0.05)than that of day 0.The relation of the expression of sBD-1 and the content of estradiol and progesterone was analyzed by recur equations.The result show that in different oestrus, the sBD-1 expression was not only positively correlated to the estradiol concentration (R~2=0.9146),but also to the progesterone concentration(R~2=0.9175).
