Chicory(Cichorium intybus L.) is the herbaceous perennid of compositae.It is the new special vegetable that the young leaves and gemmules which to use chicory's fleshy root to blanching culture can be eaten.Chicory has a poor resistance to overhead flooding injury that can be caused the root rot if there has too much water in growing period.At present,the study for chicory focuses on cultivation,physiology and biochemistry,but little In Vitro Culture o This paper studied on Regeneration System from In Vitro Culture of Chicory by minimal medium,plant growth regulator,cultivars and explants.The results were as follows:1 In four kinds of explants which from chicory,the petioles which derived from cotyledon and euphylla had a better induction than the euphylla and the front end of cotyledon.2 Chicory's dedifferentiation was easy.Used cytokinins(6-BA or KT or TDZ) or auxins(NAA or IBA) by single-factor in MS medium could be easily to induce chicory's dedifferentiation.However,cytokinins were better than auxins on callus differentitation. There were many roots in medium which added auxins only.In MS medium which added cytokinins only,there was the best effect on callus redifferentitation from explants of chicory is KT.The study showed that,when KT wasl.0mg/L~1.5mg/L and NAA was 0.2mg/L in MS medium,there was the best effect on callus induction and differentiation of Chicory.3 In the study,Puna had the best effct in three cultivars on callus induction and differentitation of chicory. 4 The experiment took five kinds of minimal media(MS,1/2MS,White,B5,N6) on induction by adventitious buds of chicory.The result showed that,MS medium had the best effect on induction of adventitious buds,1/2MS had better effect than other three medium,but there was no adventitious buds in White medium.5 On the basis of MS medium which didn't add any plant growth regulator,there had a great difference of different explants on induction of adventitious buds from chicory.The petioles which derived from cotyledon and euphylla could be induced adventitious buds, but there were no adventitious buds of the euphylla and the front end of cotyledon. Moreover,the whole cotyledon had a better inductivity than the front end of cotyledon.6 The optimum medium for root formation was MS+IBA 0.2mg/L.Chicory's regrowth took root easily,both NAA and IBA could induct rooting,but it would be inhibited if the concentration of auxins were too high.On effects of inducted rooting,IBA was better than NAA.
