The objective of this paper was to study the effects of alfalfa meal on growth performance,serum biochemical,meat quality,antioxidization capacity and immune status of sichuan white goose.In the study,160 sichuan white geese of 15-day-old were divided into four treatments (0%,5%,10%and 20%alfalfa meal),4 replicates in each treatment,10 geese for each replicate.The results showed that:(1) The groupⅠwas superior in the average daily feed intake,average daily gain and feed-weight ratio to the control group,howeve,there was no significance difference between the groupⅠand the control group.(2) The concentration of Glutamic-pyruvic transminase,glutamic-oxalacetic transaminase,and total protein were increased with the amount of alfalfa meal increasing,but the concentration of triglyceride and total cholesterol of serum was decreased as alfalfa meal increaseed.(3) The eviscerated percentage and semi-eviscerated percentage of groupⅡwere higher than control group;The diameter of muscle fiber was decreased with the increasing amount of alfalfa meal,but there were no significance differentce among four treatments.(4) With the increase of alfalfa meal,the activity of POD and GSH-Px of liver and muscle was significantly increased,however concentration of malonaldehyde was significantly decreased,indicating that alfalfa meal can improve the antioxidization capacity of geese effectively.(5) Alfalfa saponins could improve the immune organ index, The Fabricius bursa / body weight indexes was higher than that of the control group,the spleen indexes and thymus indexes increased with the amount of alfalfa meal increasing,but they were no significant difference;Alfalfa meal could improve the levels of IgG in serum,and the test groupⅢwas significant higher than that of control group(P<0.05).
