The technology of irrigation and fertilization is a newly emerging technology that can fully combine water and fertilizer in order to save water fundamentally and to improve operating factor of fertilizer maximally. But in practical operating, the quantity and the timing of fertilization and irrigation can not be controlled exactly and optimally. As a result, to develop a kind of reliable, inexpensive, effective, and advanced system of irrigation and fertilization has become the developmental need of the modern irrigation.Moisture sensor was pulled into field to watch over the field moisture content in the article. The critical value of field moisture and the quantity of the water that the plants need was thought together to realizes irrigation task. Furthermore, fertilizing scheme was made according to plants' various physiological period and the nutrient needed in each period, through which the fertilization was realized accompanying with irrigation.The system preliminarily realize three-layer system structure mode—execution layer, control layer, monitor and management layer by setting up three structure—upper monitor, lower monitor and executive layer. In order to satisfy the practical application, we developed a kind of moisture sensor that be more suitable for the real environment and the system need.Except for highly automatic control, the system can realize manual control. Both the methods can be harmoniously used together. Moreover, operators also can be controlled all kinds of unforeseeable climate saltation properly.The system created relatively database to record and store each irrigation and fertilization condition respectively. It is in favor of analyzing cost-effectiveness, tracing the best irrigation and fertilization method, furthermore, these data could be analyzed continuously to make the automatic irrigation and fertilization more scientific through the research of the irrigation and fertilization history. Therefore, making the agricultural practice is more excellent.The general design of the system bases on the follow principles(1) Practicability. As a system of practical application-oriented, considering that the user is non-professional people, the operating of the system is simple, easy to learn, easy to use, and the interface is friendly;(2) Scientificalness All the irrigation and fertilization time is strictly computed and be in line with practical experience. Furthermore, it is able to be perfect by itself;(3) Extensibility. The entire structure design of the system completely employs modularization, that's easy to the extension and ad hoc networks of the system;(4) Maintainability. If it suffers destruction because of operator's wrong doing or other reasons, the system is able to maintain itself.For exemplifying the function of the system, we make a small assorted model to check the system.
