The 224 Healthy equal male and female JCR mice were chosen to measure the molecular weight and deacelylated degree of two chitosan , the effects of body weight gain and immunological function on mice.The 224 mice were randomly divided into eight groups,each with 28 mice.The 8 treatments were basic diet adding 100mg No 1 chitosan,basic diet adding 200mg No 1 chitosan,basic diet adding 500mg No 1 chitosan,basic diet adding 100mg No 2 chitosan,basic diet adding 200mg No 2 chitosan,basic diet adding 500mg No 2 chitosan,basic diet adding 100mg oxytetracycline and control.The rate of T-lymphocytes,the phagocytic indexes of intraperitoneal phagocyte and the determination of serum lysozyme and protection rate of infectious individuals were measured.The results showed:1. The [η] values of two chitosans were 121.4,161.7,the molecular weight of the two chitosans were 7.03×104,9.72×104,the D.D% of two chitosans were 83%,63%.2. The average daily food intake of evry trial group increased by 6.31% 7.24%, 3.34%, 3.90%, 4.08%, 2.05%, 7.05% compared to the control group,but there were no significant differences among the 8 groups(P > 0.05);About the average daily gain,the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 groups increased by 4.99%,5.32%,4.83%,1.50%,1.16%,0.67% compared the blank control group;but there are the tendency that the the average daily gain of terramycin group lower 0.67% than the control one;there were no significant difference among all the 8 groups(P > 0.05) on the average daily gain;The effect of the two chitosans on mice in pilot stage intake and daily gain was not significant (P > 0.05).The effects of intake and daily gain by different adding level on mice were not significant (P intake 1 = 0.407,P intake 2 = 0.087,P ADG 1 = 0.998,P ADG 2 = 0.994,P> 0.05).3. The affection of 1st chitosan on T-lymphocyte better than the 2nd chitosan,but the difference was not significant (P > 0.05);there were significant differences among the three levels of the 1st chitosan(P <0.05),and the medium and highest supplement was extremely remarkable higher than the low dose(P < 0.01);there were terribly significant differences among the three levels of the 2nd chitosan(P <0.01),the T-lymphocyte of the 6st group was extremely higher than the other two doses(P <0.01);the T-lymphocyte percentage of the 3rd,6th groups were higher than the control group(P<0.01)and the terramycin group(P < 0.05).There were no remarkable differences (P> 0.05)on body weight/(liver+spleen)of each group; except the 4th group,the K value of other groups were obviously higher than the control one.The 1st chitosan on the impact of phagocytic index higher than the 2nd ,but the difference was not significant (P > 0.05);the different levels on phagocytic index of both of chitosans were not significantly (P>0.05).The blood serum bacteriolysin content of each group were terribly higher than the control group(P<0.01);both of chitosans on serum activity of lysozyme were increased significantly (P1 = 0.000,P2 = 0.000)with the additive amont increasing,and the 1st one was significantly higher than the 2nd one(P<0.05),The protection rate of infectious individuals of control group and the terramycin group were 50%,70% respectively;the protection rate of infectious individuals of the 1st chitosan were 60%,70% and 70%,while the 2nd one were 50%,50%,60%.The result suggested that both of chitosans played protective role and the function increased with the chitosan's amount increasing.
