As a large agricultural country,China produces a large number of agricultural plant waste materials every year.How to deal with plant waste materials,especially a large number of straw,has been a difficult problem in agricultural development.As a new renewable resource,biochar has become the focus of attention in the fields of soil improvement,water pollution control,heavy metal adsorption,bioenergy and waste treatment.Biochar is used to improve the substrate for crop cultivation,which can not only solve the problem of straw waste,but also improve the soil,increase the carbon content of the soil and promote the sustainable development of agriculture.In addition,China is also a big water shortage country,a serious shortage of water resources,enhance soil water retention performance,improve plant water use efficiency is an important factor for the sustainable development of agriculture in our country.As a kind of super absorbent polymer material model has the advantages of strong water holding capacity,has been widely used in agriculture.To improve soil water holding capacity,improve soil structure,increase resistance of crop drought resistance,has a significant effect to maintain soil and fertilizer,is an important substrate.Anthurium Scherzerianum Schott because of its bright color and beautiful shape,flowering seasons,very popular,widely used in ornamental plants,is a very important economic flower.This experiment the further exploration is conducted to study the effects of different amounts of biochar and water retaining agent on the water retention and fertilizer retention of the substrate and the physiological characteristics of the aboveground leaves and the underground roots in different growth stages of the Anthurium Scherzerianum Schott.The photosynthetic characteristics of leaves and the changes of N?P?K uptake all data were studied.By WINRHIZO root analysis system,and the root growth characteristics of Anthurium Scherzerianum Schott at 3 and 6 months of growth were studied,and the root system of Anthurium Scherzerianum Schott at different stages was also studied.Activities of Protective enzymes(CAT?POD),soluble protein,soluble Sugar,malondialdehyde,chlorophyll a,chlorophyll b and carotenoid in leaves,leaf water potential and photosynthetic index of leaves were analyzed.And the study on the absorption of N?P?K in the different period of the flower of Anthurium Scherzerianum Schott.The main conclusions are as follows:1.Effects of different amounts of biochar and water retaining agent on the water retention and fertilizer retention of the substrate.Biochar and water retaining agent have significant improvement on the absorption of water and nutrient by substrate,which is conducive to the adsorption of water and the absorption of fertility.2.The effects of different amounts of biochar and water retaining agent on the root growth of Anthurium Scherzerianum Schott were analyzed.The data of total root length,root surface area,root projection area,root mean diameter,total root tip number,root branching number and root activity were analyzed.It was found that the above indexes increased first and then decreased with the increase of the amount of biochar and water retaining agent,and the differences among the treatments were significant.All the indexes reached the maximum value in 10% biochar and 4‰ water retaining agent treatment,which indicated that the root system growth of Anthurium Scherzerianum Schott under10% biochar and 4‰ water retaining agent treatment was most favorable to the growth of Anthurium Scherzerianum Schott,and the growth condition of Anthurium Scherzerianum Schott root system is the best.3.The effects of different amounts of biochar and water retaining agent on physiological characteristics of Anthurium Scherzerianum Schott were studied.The results showed that the activity of CAT?POD,the contents of chlorophyll a,chlorophyll b,soluble protein,soluble sugar in the root system of Anthurium Scherzerianum Schott were determined.The water potential of leaves reached the maximum in C10H4 treatment,and the contents of carotenoid and malondialdehyde decreased to the lowest in C10H4 treatment.With the increase of the amount of biochar and water retaining agent,the activity,chlorophyll a,chlorophyll b,soluble protein of protective enzyme CAT?POD were increased.The content of soluble sugar increased first and then decreased.The content of carotenoid and malondialdehyde showed the opposite rule.4.In this experiment,the effects of different amounts of biochar and water retaining agent on the ornamental characteristics of Anthurium Scherzerianum Schott were studied,including the number of floral bracts,the length of bud,the length of flower buds and the height of plants.The results showed that the effects of 10% biochar and 4 ‰ water retaining agent on the growth and development of Anthurium Scherzerianum Schott were the most significant.The number of flower bracts increased by 18.52%,the length of flower bud increased by 31.1%,the length of flower bud increased by 20%,and the plant height increased by 8.9%.To sum up,in the experiment of the effect of different amount of biochar and water retaining agent on the ornamental character of Anthurium Scherzerianum Schott,10% of the total amount of biochar and 4 ‰ water retaining agent treatment were the best,and the best addition ratio of biochar and water retaining agent to the Anthurium Scherzerianum Schott treatment.5.The effects of different amounts of biochar and water retaining agent on the nutrient uptake of N?P?K were studied.It was found that the uptake of N?P?K in roots and leaves of Anthurium Scherzerianum Schott plants increased first and then decreased among different treatments of biochar and water retaining agent.The C10H4 treatment had the most significant difference with the control.6.The effects of different amounts of biochar and water retaining agent on photosynthetic characteristics of Anthurium Scherzerianum Schott leaves.The net photosynthetic rate(Pn),stomatal conductance(GS)and intercellular CO2 concentration(CO2)increased gradually and then decreased with the increase of the amount of biochar and water retaining agent.Both of them reached the maximum in C10H4 treatment,and the transpiration rate(Tr)decreased gradually.To sum up,under the condition of 10% biochar and 4‰ water retaining agent treatment,the growth state of Anthurium Scherzerianum Schott was the best,so the most suitable amount of biochar and water retaining agent was studied.
