With the increasing seriousness of water resource shortages and the upswing of the growing area of lawn, which will also be a substantial increase in water consumption, so how to improve water resource utilization of lawn and how to use water reasonably is worth studying in-depth. The research purposes on the relationship of water and the turfgrass quality are, to seek access to the best quantity of water input connected with the excellent quality of turfgrass with the relationship of time allocation, to make it clear about the function of the turfgrass and the water. In this way, this survey will provide the basis for reasonable irrigation on the turf.This article mainly reflects the connection between the turfgrass quality and soil moisture, and through this, to obtain the empirical turfgrass quality water production function. Experimental design is single factor design which is totally randomized block. This experiment is designed by 7 levels and every level possesses three duplicates. There are 21 test areas in this experiment. Each area is controlled respectively by the soil moisture. The upper limit of its moisture are 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, 100% of the field capacity. The various levels are distributed randomly. The quality of the lawn is evaluated every week, and the managements to the lawn have no differences. We use the digital imaging method to evaluat turfgrass quality, chose the color and the coverage of turfgrass as evaluated factors, which can made turfgrass quality more measurable.Through the experiment, we can find that turfgrass quality is closely related to soil moisture, and the coverage and the color of the lawn will gradually strengthen with the increase of the soil moisture. Once soil moisture is below 60% FC, turf grass can not obtain adequate water and the quality of its lawn is not able to achieve the request of the use; when soil moisture is more than 60% FC, turfgrass can grow normally; while soil moisture is more than 80%, the lawn can attain high quality, at this time the lawn grew well. However, when the soil moisture reaches more than 90% FC, the quality of the turf have no increase with soil moisture. In view of this, this article obtains the empirical turfgrass quality water production function during the trial.
