Aroma compositions of tobacco are the core contents of tobacco quality. Tobacco quality depends largely on the tobacco's fragrance. For improving the quality of tobacco and controlling cigarettes quality, research on the aroma material in tobacco is of great significance. Studies show that tobacco trichome and trichome secretion are related closely on the information of tobacco aroma precursor substances.Trichome density and the development status on the leaves have important relationship with quality of tobacco aroma compositions.The relation of leaf trichome and trichome secretion is extremely close with leaf fragrant makings and fragant spirit formation in tobacco. Studies on the trichome growth, mature, languish and the rule that leaf surface trichomes excrete the fragant ingredients of different burley tobacco species in the growth process, which will have the important guiding significance to new tobacco species selection and implementation of high quality cultivable technology.The article takes the field cultivation burley tobacco as materials in the year of 2007. We conducted a series of analyse and research by used the morden analytical technology. Live leaves were observed and the trichome density was counted with the microscope and the content and componenet of fragance substances in burley tobacco was analysed by using GC, GC/MS. Main findings are as follows:1. We tracked the trichome density observation in different species of burley tobacco at different mature process to discover follows: thichome density of different tobacco species existence is remarkable or the extremely remarkable difference, long handle trichome, short handle trichome and headless trichome ratio also has big difference, trichome density on the lower epidermis is not less than the upper epidermis; the different types trichome of different burley tobacco species languishing speed is diferent along with the leaf mature periods.2. Studied on regular chemical content with different species of burley tobacco, which can draw the conclusion that it is harvesting time for tobacco leave that the chemical component were most harmoniously. The chemical content of the top stalk position of tobacco leaves are more than the middle stalk position of tobacco leaves.3. Qualitative analysis of leaf secretion was made by GC/MS, and content analysis was also accurate made by GC. Result demonstrates follows: the content of cembrenoids and 9-octadeca alkyne are highest in the leaf surface secretion componenets of burley tobacco, which is the mainest ingredients; the different species of burley tobacco are different in superficial secretion quantity at the same cultivation and harvest time. Leaf secretion capacity is different in various species of burley tobacco, which is associated tightly with genotypes; secretion capacity of leaf surface is various at different mature periods of different tobacco species.4. Analyses on dynamic changes of aroma constituents in growth process of burley tobacco. Neophytadiene, solanone, megastigmatrienone and cembrenoids are the main ingredients. The change of their content is consistence with leaf surface secretion at different mature periods of different tobacco species. It is proved that leaf surface secretion is closely correlated with aroma constituents.5. The research results are as follows: The chemical content of E'yan 1 and E'yan 4 of burley tobacco are more harmoniously than any other species in experiment. The more leaf secretion it produces, the more aroma constituents it will be. Secretion capacity of E'yan 1 is remarkably in all species of burley tobacco in experiment.
