Field experiments were conducted to investigate the effect of different N fertilizer application amount and different N and K combined application on the yield, crude protein content and nutrients absorption of oat for understanding the fertilizer absorption feature of oat and determining the optimum fertilizer application amount in the alpine region. The results are as follows:1. The seed yield of oat was increased significantly with the nitrogen fertilizer application reaching the maximum yield 6491kg/hm2 at N75. The relationship between the seed yield(Y) and N fertilizer application amount(N) fixed to the equations: Y=5202.7+25.96N-0.1398N 2(R=0.985,F=16.66*). The propagative tiller among all the yield compound factors affect the yield most (r=0.93). Combined application of N and K fertilizer improved grain yield of oat with the treatment of N75K135 obtaining the highest yield .The curves of grain yields to the amount of N and K fertilizer application are quadratic fixing to the equations Y=5202.23+54.34N- 17.03K-0.37N2+0.78K2(F=29.94**). The combined application of Nand K fertilizer obviously affected yield by improved spike number per area. During the whole growth period, the hay yield showed an increasing tendency. The curves of leaf area are single peak in growing progress. Leaf area reached the maximum at flowering stage.2. The contents of N, P and K in oat during the whole growth period showed a declining tendency.More N existed in the leaf than in the stalk while more P and K existed in the stalk than in the leaf. N fertilizer improved the N content and the absorption of N, P and K. The content of N, P and K in oat had significant correlative with the increase of N fertilizer utilizing during different growing stage. There was a positive interaction of N and K with nutrient absorption.Combination of N and K fertilizer promoted the content of N, P, K. and the absorption of N, P and K. With the same K fertilizer application, more N fertilizer improved the distribution of N, P and K at the mature stage. At the same time, the total N contribution rate from vegetative tissues to gain had an increasing tendency but with excessive N fertilizer the distribution of N,K and P contribution of N had declining tendency. The distribution of N, P and K and total contribution rate of N, P during the period of maturity was improved with the increasing of K fertilizer.3. The content of N, P, K and the crude protein in oat were increased, the crude fiber decreased with the increasing nitrogen application. Combined application of N and K fertilizer improved the crude protein in oat by 28.1%~53.5% and the content of N,P and K.The crude protein content in oat seed affected by N and K fertilizer application fixing to the equation Y=8.33+0.205N-0.093K-0.001N2+0.00046K2 (F=23.028**).
