Conservation of water and soil is the main work and essential measure in improving ecological environment, and it is also important guarantee in socioeconomic sustainable development. Currently, the increasingly serious problem of soil erosion urgently need advanced technology we use to realize scientific, efficient, unified management and analysis of a large amount of information in soil erosion of whole basin. The data of water and soil conservation contains notable spatial character and complex attribute information, it is worth making a deep study for us to find out how to save, manage and make good use of it efficiently. The establishment of large spatial database will be an efficient way.Aiming at the features of water and soil conservation, This paper presents a solution base on GeoDatabase,ArcSDE and Oracle to create a large spatial database and thus to manage multi-source mass spatial information and attribute information. The technology of GeoDatabase and ArcSDE was in-depth analyzed firstly in this paper. In accordance with the database design process, This paper designs the Soil and Water Conservation Monitoring Database in detail including conceptual design, logical design, physical design, etc. Then the technologies of the large Database Standardization,Organization and Management Methods in Spatial data,Database Performance Optimization,Database Backup and Recovery were researched in-depth in this paper. The practice of Soil and Water Conservation Monitoring Database was used in Data Management System of Soil and Water Conservation and Soil and Water Conservation Information Service System show that the data sharing and unified management was achieved in whole basin in this system. It has important practical significance in Dynamic Monitoring of Soil and Water Conservation and overall planning and decision-making.
