Grassland-livestock balance is the uniqueness principle of sustainable development of grassland livestock production. Overgrazing has became the main reason for the natural grassland degradation. Building the grassland-livestock balance modal is an important method to control grassland degradation and to recover grassland ecology. Sunan is a typical pastoral mountain grassland and Gansu alpine sheep is the main livestock in this area, the grassland overloading rate of Sunan reach to 40%-50%.The evaluation on the present situation of the grassland-livestock balance of Gansu alpine sheep production system is a premise of launch the study on grassland-livestock balance modal. Now, the most important problem of achieving the grassland-livestock balance by reducing grazing capacity is that farmer's income will decrease with the decrease of grazing capacity. Therefore, the first thing requires consideration of achieving the grassland-livestock balance is how to maintain a steady income of farmers. In this paper, the determination of grassland productivity and Gansu alpine sheep production performance is achieved in Sunan, Grassland-livestock balance modal and Precision livestock management computer modal is built, the present situation of grassland-livestock balance in Sunan is evaluated, and the study on Precision management modal is carried out. By the data analysis to five typical farmers, the conclusions obtained is shown below:(1)The existing production system of Gansu alpine sheep in Sunan is not balance in the whole year, the main manifestation is a serious shortage of energy supply from October to the following May.(2)Feed the sheep 1.5kg hay and fodder from November can meet the energy requirement of sheep, but the cost will increase.(3)Modal analysis shows that the grass supply will equal to the livestock demand by changing the lambing time which can reduce the supplement feed amount and increase productivity. The best lambing time is June.(4)The data of typical farmers analyzed by Precision management system show that optimizing livestock structure on the premise of maintaining farmer's income will reduce 7.2%-47% of livestock capacity. Raising the feed and management level furtherly will reduce 29%-55% of livestock capacity. The grassland-livestock balance of Gansu alpine sheep in Sunan and the effective breeding of livestock can be obtained.(5)The grassland-livestock balance modal and Precision management modal shown in this paper have applied in Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang and other pastoral areas in Gansu to evaluating the level of grassland-livestock balance and optimizing the management of herd.
