The concept of High Conservation Value Forest (HCVF) which put forward by FSC attracts the attention from all the world. In the year 2002, the concept began to be draw into China. But it's still lack the thesis of HCVF.2006, the project called Key Science & Technology Projects of BMSTC set up a branch project:High Conservation Value Forest Research in Beijing Area.Based on "The Define,Standard,Threshold of HCVF in Beijing", with the help of ArcGIS software, we extract the information of HCV from the relief map. Then we extract the HCVF information from forest survey data. With the help of Patch Analysis, we carry out the landscape analysis of HCVF. Combining all the results and other information came out a threats analysis of Beijing's HCVF.The main results show that:(1) The total area of HCVF in Beijing is 238124.8hm2. The stock of HCVF is 4939554.7m3. Protected areas are the largest part of HCVF in Beijing. The broad-leaved forest is the main part of land-use.(2)The average area of each patch of HCVF is small. High fragmentation of each HCV is the marked feature of Beijing's HCVF. The quantity of fractal dimension is between 1.3~1.4.(3) Unreasonable development, overcutting, forest grazing, distemperedness of law and rule, poor management,Unreasonable forest structure are the key threats to HCVF in Beijing.
