The morphological changes of the goats and different breed of meat-producing sheep (Mongolia sheep, GermanyMerino sheep, Texel sheep, Dorset sheep and Suffolk sheep)'s proventriculus were investigated by histology-sliced methed in the condition of house feeding. To provide several morphological foundations and theoretical reference to make up scientific feeding strategies for promote the select methods and feed scheme of meat-producing sheep in the condition of house feeding, especially excellent species of meat-producing sheep on abroad. The studies were comprised two parts:1. The research about the proventriculus morphological changes of the goats in different stages of house feeding. The result of studies indicated that the mucous membrane histologic structure of the goats was similar between the experiment group and the control group in different stages(3 months group, 6 months group, 9 months group, 12 months group). The proventriculus histological structure was mucosa, submucosa, muscularis and serosa, from the inside to the outside. Muscularis mucosae was absent in rumen. The epithelium thickness of proventriculus was significantly(p<0.05)between the experiment group and the control group in different stages, and the thickness was increased markedly along with the stages of house feeding increasing. But the thickness of the proventriculus muscularis was markedly decreased along with the stages of house feeding increasing, and it was difference significantl(yp<0.05)among each group. The thickness of submucosa of rumen and reticulum were all non-significantly(p>0.05) among each group. The thickness of muscular layer of reticulum and omasum mucosa were significantly(p<0.05)between the control group and other groups, and non-significantly( p>0.05) among different groups. The results proved that the thickness of proventriculus epithelium and muscularis markedly and regularly changed in different stages of house feeding. The submucosa thickness of rumen and reticulum, the muscularis mucosae thickness of reticulum and omasum were non-significantly(p>0.05) among the different stages of house feeding.2. The research about the proventriculus morphological changes of the different breed meat-producing sheep in the condition of house feeding. The result of studies indicated that the histological structure of proventriculus was similar in different breed sheep. The histologic structure of proventriculus was composed of tunica mulosa layers, submucosa layers, tunica muscularis and tunica serosa. The epithelium thickness of proventriculus was the thickest in Mongolia sheep group, and the thinnest in Texel sheep group. The datas of Dorset sheep group was in the middle. The proventriculus muscularis was the thickest in Mongolia sheep group, and significantly (p<0.05)with other groups. The thickness of rumen and reticulum submucosa was non-significantly(p>0.05) among different groups. The muscularis layer thickness of reticulum and omasum mucosa were the thickest in Mongolia sheep group, and followed in Dorset sheep group. The central muscularsis thickness of omasum was the thickest in Germany Merino sheep group, and significantly(p<0.05)with other groups.
