Study On Resources Of Wild Medicinal Plants In The West Coastal Area In Hainan Province

Based on the comprehensive investigations into wild medicinal plants in the west coastal area in Hainan Province during December,2008 and January,2010, the species and distribution of wild medicinal plants resources were basically maken clear, and found out there are 135 families,505 genera and 782 wild medicinal plants.The information could provide basic data for protecting and sustainability exploiting the wild medicinal plants. The investigation results as follows:1,Vegetation damaged seriously and natural vegetation types mainly shrub, shrub forest, mangrove and herbosa, differente medicinal plants distribute in these vegetation types. Within 0.2/km2 shrub plots record 72 families119 genera and 175 species of wild medicinal plants, accounting for 82.5% of plant species, and herbal medicinal plants is the most. Within 0.26/km2 shub forest plots record 82 families 214 genera and 291 species of wild medicinal plants, accounting for 84.8% of plant species, and shrub medicinal plants is the most. We record 44 medicinal plants only group in coastal area.2,Record new distribution area of 16 medicinal plants, found 4 kinds medicinal plants that local people use, but not documented in the literature. We also cllected 11 folk prescriptions.3,Preliminary statistics result shows there are 1500 kinds of higher plants within the investigation area, identified 144 families 800 genera 1320 species, including 135 families 505 genera and 782 medicinal plants. In our investigation area, there are 15 species provincial key protected wild plants,2 species national key protected wild medicinal plants and 5 species unique plants in Hainan.5,Analyzed on the flora of Pteridophyte and Spermatophyte of medicinal plants in west coast showed that the tropical distribution composition is the main composition with distinct advantage in this area. Analyzed on medicinal plants resources shows that herbs plants, whole plants have medicinal value, cool property plants, with bitter flavor plants, clearing-heat herbs are the most. There are 78 species poisonous medicinal plants. They need carefully identification and more attention before using. 6,Hough it has rich medicinal plants resources in west coastal area, the using and exploitation situation is not optimistic. For promoting local economic development and increasing farmers'income, it is urgent to popularize the knowledge of medicinal plants, and select some medicinal plants with market potential to exploit industrially.7,Taken 2100 images of pieces during the investigation, and produced 500 plant specimens, introduced 50 medicinal plants.
